DR Cillaliz - the answer to the question you asked me last night is, yes, I bought a Keurig about a month ago.  We're having a lot of fun with it.

It takes a while to try out different coffees or teas or whatever, but please post the names of the ones you find you like best, DR Ginny.

I thought today's laundry was going to kill me.

Death By Laundry.   Hmm...

Okay, I'm working on it.  Give me time.

Mine is a Cuisinart.  I got that particular one because it came with the filter you can use if you want to use your own coffee.  Of course I'm still using the K-cups that came with it.  It's perfect for me because I usually just have one or two cups of coffee.  I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I am!

I'm bookmarking the Herzog thing to watch and share with a few people, DR John G.  I feel very strongly about that.

Hmm. I didn't think anyone ever really opened Spam. I thought it was just something your father-in-law gives you to carry all the way back home in your camper, unless you try to feed it to the dog, who declines it.

;D

I would have to be extremely hungry to eat Spam.

I like the low fat low sodium spam.

Congrats JRand and the cast of Drowsy Chaperone.   The theater my parents go to is ending it's season with Drowsy Chaperone.  They go Sunday.  I told them they will love it and I think they will. Hope the production they see is as well received as yours

Today was quite a day.  I woke up, looked out the window and the tree guys were pulling up.  I got dressed very quickly and went outside to meet them.   They worked all morning and did a fabulous job.  The trees look fabulous

Unfortunately fabulous trees made the overgrown back yard look even worse.   Jeff, the tree guy, said if I worked on it today and left a pile by the driveway of leaves and wood in the driveway he'd pick it up and get rid of it.  Well  I couldn't pass up that.  It took me hours but I got to play with my chainsaw for part of it. There is now a huge pile of leaves, weeds and tree limbs in my driveway.  Jeff sounded surprised I actually did it, lol.  He'll pick it up tomorrow. I can still get out the driveway so that's cool.

Browsing the supermarket I came across a display of Spam. I thought I'd not had that in decades so I bought a tin. When I tried to open it, the ring-pull thingy snapped off as soon as I pulled it back. I then tried two different can openers. I tried both ends of the tin but neither opener worked. There was a tiny hole where the ring-pull was so I tried sticking the prong of a fork inside and trying to lever up the metal casing. I finally gave up before I ended up with cuts and blood all over my hands and hurled the wretched tin into the wastebin. Not to be outdone I went out again and bought another tin - but haven't had the nerve to attempt to try and open it yet. Are they actually meant to be opened?

Take the damaged can out of the wastebin, and return it to the store for a refund.

The museum is actually very cool. It tells the history of Spam but also the history of America. some fun stuff like a replica radio station with Burns and Allen playing.  Spam was a sponsor.  There I also an area where you can listen to the All Women Big Band. I think it was Armour that was the sponsor not necessarily Spam, but it was during WWII.  They were great.  There is also a hologram of a soldier in his tent talking about spam.  You kind of have to be there I guess, but it's definitely worth stopping if you happen to be driving down I-90 Through Minnesota

I have returned from seeing my doctor and I have another prescription for more Tylenol with codeine and muscle relaxant to cover my Dublin jaunt.

DR JRand62, I am so happy for your success last night. Here are vibes for the show's run!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Success Vibes for the "Drowsy Chaperone" cast! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I didn't know there was a combo with all three ingredients.  I wonder if your script bottle will be checked carefully going through security.
DR TCB do you ever have problems traveling with your pain meds?
Nope.  I always keep them in their prescription bottle in my carry on.
Maybe they should develop vegetarian Spam. After all, there's canned vegetarian haggis, perhaps the only meat less inviting than Spam.
Tonight I made home made fresh strawberry ice cream.  It was really to runny for my taste but very good.  I'm looking forward to having a bowl tomorrow when it's firmed up more.
Probably...but the next time (and I'm sure that there will be a next time) that the ring-pull thingy (scientific name) snaps off, you could try needle nose pliers to pull open the lid.  I've actually done that before (not on a Spam can, though) and it works quite well. :)
You're right. Spam isn't the worst of meats. But I don't go out of my way to eat it.  Even in Hawaii.
Well, I don't have it very often, but I do pick up a can a few times a year and do enjoy it
Hello, everyone.
A quiz for all you music lovers: BBC.com runs an ad for Rolex. If you click on the ad you'll hear a piece of music that I'm trying to identify. Can anyone tell me what it is or who the composer is?
http://www.bbc.com/culture/story/20130429-behind-the-scenes-with-britten
Thanks.
That's The World of Rolex by Shamis Khassenov.  You can hear the piece in it's entirety here.
THANK YOU, DR Vintek!! I enjoyed listening to the whole piece. I think it works wonderfully in the ad--a few high notes on the piano, then an EXPLOSION of orchestral sounds!
How did you know what it was?
I find needlenose pliers useful for lots of things around the house, including pulls gobs of hair out of the shower drain.
