In other news, I lost my cell phone today!  (My best guess is that I set it down on a table out in public, and moved on...)  It was a very fine Android smartphone, and I went through a couple of insane hours fretting over who was getting into my SHIT, changing several passwords, etc.

Long story short--

Oh hell, it's not even worth a short story.

Suffice it to say that at least I have insurance on this one, and will be utilizing it tomorrow.

The craziest thing was driving a 3-1/2-hour car trip ... WITHOUT A PHONE.

I actually very rarely TALK on the damned thing, but I use it for plenty else, and just knowing it's there in sudden need, or whatever, is a whole different world from the one we all grew up in.  So, I felt mighty "disconnected", as it were.

Out of touch.  Incommunicado.  Vulnerable.

You get the drift.

Very glad to be home.

I hadn't eaten anything and I didn't want to eat any of the party food, so after I went and had a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich and no fries or onion rings.  No jog today, but I definitely ate no more than my 1200 calories so it's fine.

Yikes!!  I've never actually lost my phone.  I've left it at home or at work but FORTUNATELY it's never gotten lost.  I don't have a smart phone, but I would hate to lose the phone that I do have.

Well this is pretty darned cool...NH lifetime achievement award for Stephen Sondheim!

Quote
PETERBOROUGH, N.H. (AP) — Broadway composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim is being awarded one of the top honors in the arts world: the Edward MacDowell Medal for lifetime achievement.

The award is being presented Sunday at the MacDowell Colony, the prestigious retreat for artists, writers and composers in Peterborough, N.H. This is the first time the medal has been awarded for achievement in musical theater. Past recipients include Robert Frost and Georgia O'Keefe.

In a statement when the award was announced, Sondheim called the medal a "sort of homecoming," noting that as a child he used to play compositions by Edward MacDowell, for whom the prize is named.

Sondheim has won more Tony Awards than any other composer. His hit musicals include "Follies," ''A Little Night Music" and "Sweeney Todd."

But I can't do it alone, said the spider to the fly.  Do you ever wonder what the damn fly said in response?  I do.  It keeps me up nights.

Today, I stayed home for a while and worked on memorizing my lines for "Hollywood Who Done It?".  Tomorrow is the first rehearsal where we have to be off book. ::) I have most of them down, but at rehearsal tomorrow, who knows how much will stick.

I stayed for a while and chatted, then I went to Red Robin for a burger.  That was very good but messy. :)

It would be faboo to have a Blu and Ray of Mr. Roberts.  I wonder if a revival would be fun.  Have they done one EVER?

According to Internet Broadway Database, it's only been on Broadway once, from Feb 18, 1948 - Jan 06, 1951.

Today on TCM has been a tribute to Henry Fonda.  The next movie, which just started and I'm recording, is "A Big Hand for the Little Lady."  I loved the ending. :D

In the beginning when Kevin McCarthy is being driven on the stage coach through the hills, you can see modern tire tracks in the dirt at one point. ;)

My sister's boyfriend is able to make Blu-ray discs from hi-def DVR recordings.  It has to be recorded on a DVR and then he can copy it through a firewire cable to his laptop.  Then he can do what he does and burn it to a hi-def Blu-ray.

He said that someday he'll show me how to do it, but I need to get whatever program that can do it and a Blu-ray burner.  He's been saying that for a couple of years, now.
