Speaking of "I'd like to teach the world to Sing"  Wasn't there a bridge that went something like:

Put your hand in my hand, let's begin today....

Anyone?

That sounds right.

Put your hand in my hand
let's begin today,
With your hand in my hand
help me find a way.

Watching "Yolanda and the Thief." Watching Fred Astaire play the harp is not good use of Fred Astaire. But the movie is visually stunning.

Oh good grief!  I guess I am getting too old for these birthday celebrations.  Here it is almost 8:00 p.m. on the day after, and I am just now getting to Haines His Way.

Before I forget......

Thank you for the birthday wishes from Vixmom, MBarnum, and Matthew.  I am afraid I crashed out before they extended their good wishes.

Thank you again to one and all for yesterday.

Mikey, I think you may be correct about the card that you and Larry sent.  That was pretty damn perfect, right down to the pink socks with my loafers.

From around three am this morning until around noon I was sicker than a dog.  It might have been a bug, there are several going around, but I believe it was something that I ate yesterday.  It could have been the birthday cake (Nawwwwwwwwww), but my hunch is the burger I had for lunch.  A former co-worker and friend took me to one of my favorite lunch spots around town.  It is called the Loose Wheel, so in the tradition of BK. I call it The Flat Tire.
I had the Holy Guacamole Burger.  I have had it before, but yesterday is was just too damn spicy.  I almost gagged on the first bite, but I trudged forward and ate the whole damn thing, as well as the tater tots.

Anyway, by noon, I was feeling better but I still just lounged around all day.

When I was growing up it was

Sugar Frosted Flakes and now it's Frosted Flakes
Sugar Pops and now it's Corn Pops
Sugar Smacks and now it's Honey Smacks
Super Sugar Crisp and now it's Golden Crisp

And the Corn Pops without the Sugar, are pretty nasty.

I always enjoyed the hair products - especially the stop motion Brylcreen commercials....

And the deodorant commercials like Ban Roll-On....and of course the Anacin commercials with the anvil and the lightning strikes in someone's head......

And was it that buttinski Kathy for Secret that was always butting into people's lives.

And Mrs. Olson for coffee, was it Folger's?  I saw the actress in some old movie when I was a kid, and I couldn't understand why she didn't have an accent.

BK,

There's really a musical about Anne Frank?

 :o

What's next?  SCHINDLER'S LIST?

I have a CD of an Anne Frank musical

DR TCB, I tried to find some "white noise" on youtube so that you could hear what it sounds like. But truthfully I don't find that any of the videos with white noise are that close.

Just picture a big fan. It sort of makes that kind of noise, but not exactly.  It just basically blocks out most sounds and is very soothing to sleep to.  I also love it for reading. It blocks out noises from other rooms (tv) or outside.  I've been sleeping a lot better since I got this machine. I absolutely love it.

Thanks Jennifer.

DR TCB - DR Jennifer has the right idea.  Here's what white noise sounds like:

I don't think I would like that.

Mom banned this outright ---- oh how we all longed to find one of these little eggs in our stocking  but ti never happened  - once when I saved up all  my pennies and nickles from returning coke bottles  I bought my own --- which mysteriously disappeared while I was sleeping

I had Silly Putty, but I never really knew why.

Druxy, there are at least three Anne Frank musicals, one of which has a CD (the cover elmore posted).  This one tonight is not that one.

I'm sure they're all very good.

I just think the subject matter is a bit depressing for a musical".

But, then, I guess that's just me.

 :-\

And Les Miz is a real knee-slapper?

Hello. I spent the day up north with Wae-Ling looking for butterflies. I told her she was my research assistant, and she took all the notes.

What does it say about me that my eye went NOT to the guy, NOR to the food he's holding, but DIRECTLY to the fired orange le creuset on the shelf in the background?

Sounds like a personal problem.

;)

I have that orange Le Creuset!
