Good morning, all!  I finally gave in around 10:30 and took the Tylenol with codeine and a flexerill to help me sleep. The pain in my left leg focused last night on the joint between foot and ankle and throbbed incessantly most of the night. I slept very poorly, but I did get some sleep.

Today, whether I want to or not, I must walk to the corner, catch a bus, and do some banking. I hope to  accomplish that in another hour or so. Tonight, I'm supposed to have dinner with friends who are moving to London. Ihope I am up to it.

Oh man.  Remember the lost/stolen cell phone?

Our long national nightmare is almost over.

"Your Request for Service has been approved and a new phone has been ordered. Please allow 4-6 BUSINESS days for delivery."

It's taken two weeks of jumping through hoops and bugging Verizon for a statement and bugging the police department for the report, which I just picked up yesterday...but the damned insurance is coming through.

Oh, BK, it kills me that I can't be there for the anniversary show. It sounds like something truly special. And having sung with both Valerie and Kay, those two will shake the room with those voices!  Sadly, I will be in tech all day, since we have an invited dress two days after.

it's back to La Jolla for me today. And I may go missing tomorrow, with a quick trip to Portland, OR for a corporate gig... flying out on a 6:40AM flight for an evening show? Who books that kinda thing at the buttcrack of dawn?  Oh, well, I'll be happy when the check comes.

Most flights out of our small airport are around 6:00 AM.  We feel lucky if we get a 7:00 flight.  Terrible are the ones before six.

What I haven't eaten that I'd like to try: the entire meal from Babette's Feast.     

I made this in a hands-on cooking class. It's a lot of work, but our version wasn't the end-all that the movie made it out to be. It could have been that our tomato sauce was overcooked to start with and then it cooks even more after you put the whole thing together.
