TOD:

Barbecue is all that is on my plate.

If I'm lucky, maybe I'll get to watch the DVD of Lovely to Look At.

I think it funny after reading BK's comments on quinoa that I received a press release on the winner of the Quinoa Recipe Contest with her Indian Inspired Quinoa Street Taco with Fresh Fig Salsa.

I'll second Mike's suggestion of Karen Morrow for any recording, any time, anywhere.

TOD

Nothing new this week but I watched BATES MOTEL on TV which has just started here. Not sure how this idea can progress for a whole series but I see that series 2 is on the way. Nice to see the old house and motel again!

Just got a piece of mail from Lady M; it seems to me the Macbeths are trying hard to make amends for their appalling behavior in 2007.  Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes!

Happy Friday the 13th to all. It's always been a lucky day for me... let's hope that holds.  :D

BK, the recording cast sounds like its shaping up wonderfully. Can't wait to hear about the girls.

I hope everyone is in for a great weekend. Me? I have 5 shows... so, Monday will be my weekend.

Cheers!

Speaking of book covers, here's what I think will be my book cover.

21st CENTURY OLDIES
Volume 1:  Turn Defeat Around
PARODY LYRICS - CATEGORIES FROM A TO B

Sing-along parody lyrics by Fred Landau
21st century current events sung to the tune of classic popular music

Thanks, JohnG.

I was thinking of putting MBarnum's singer person on the cover, but who knows what kind of havoc that would cause?

Good morning all! I have good news and bad news: the good news is that the physical therapy is helping enormously; there are still problems with my mobility and my physical state, but there are huge changes in what I can and cannot accomplish at the present time.  The bad news is that I regressed and needed the Tylenol with codeine to sleep last night,  My left foot began throbbing as soon as I settled down to sleep, and before the night was over I had taken two Tylenol along with the flexerill. I will do my best to avoid it tonight.

I've read to drink lots of water with Tylenol, something I don't really do.  To me that would make more sense if it was the kidneys that are effected vs the liver.  I suggest you avoid alcoholic beverages, which I do avoid if I'm taking a lot of Tylenol.

As you know PT is great but it can increase pain.  Sleep is important to and it doesn't sound like you are taking too many dosage of Tylenol a day.

WISHING YOU A EASIER DAYS AHEAD!!!!

I haven't touched an alcoholic drink in six weeks. I may be dumb but i am not stupid.

Thanks for the good wishes!

LOL.  I know the temptation to have a little something is greater, at least for me, knowing it can ease the pain.

From yesterday:

Larry...yes, Gregg Edelman is in Secondhand Lions, but we didn't go to the stage door after the show.  We did see and congratulate our friend Ian, who is the resident music director of the 5th Avenue Theatre and the music director for the show.  He's from Olympia and was the MD for A Christmas Story and on the cast recording, which also started at the 5th Avenue!

Spoo!  Wish I had stopped in earlier to see DR George is going to Secondhand Lions.  I'm not sure if Rupert is there or in New York working on A Time To Kill, but I would have told George to say hello to him for me if he's there. Can't wait to hear about the show

In the pre-show announcement, the artistic director of the 5th Avenue said that the creators of the show were there, but I didn't see Rupert (I don't know what the composer or lyricist look like).  I was thinking that if I did actually see him and was actually able to speak to him that I would mention that I knew you!  But I didn't get the chance.  Oh, well.  I really enjoyed the show, though. :)

DR Jane:  When is the Lassner household going to include a Bernese puppy?

Maybe after the first of the year.  We have very mixed feelings about a pup and really only due to concerns I'll break something again.  I dream about them all the time, even had one last night.

The dishwasher repairman attempted to install a new motor today only they sent him the wrong part.  He said our replacement order will be rushed and service to us will be a priority.  I hope it is fixed before our next round of company arrives.  This time it is just one person, Keith's cousin, so not having a working dishwasher won't be as big a deal as with our previous groups of recent company.

DR JRand6, I'm sorry I missed the good wishes for HARVEY. I'm thinking only of myself these days.

Awhile back I believe DR Jennifer suggested Keith get a library card.  I think it is time to do so.  The book I need to read for my November book group is only available with a Kindle so I would be downloading it to his iPad anyway.  Frustrating is until I put a hold on the book I don't know how many people are in the queue and I don't have anymore room on my hold list.

DR George do you know how many holds your library permits for eBooks?  Six just seems too few in my opinion, especially when the books take so darn long to become available.

The photos from Colorado are really getting to me. The images of sewage shooting up into the air are particularly nauseating.

Here in San Antonio, we're allowed up to 25 reservations and the number can get as high as the demand allows. I've sometimes had to wait through hundreds of reservations before getting a DVD or an e-book.

One of the contestants from the upcoming season of SURVIVOR, who lives here in Salem, is holding a garage sale. In fact she is advertising it as such. ;D

She was a contestant on a previous season, but I can't think of her name. As she was never a favorite of mine, I don't have any inclination to go to the sale...besides, looking at the craigslist ad she isn't selling anything that I need or want.

Each patron is allowed up to eight holds, but there isn't a limit to the number of holds that a title may accrue.  The other factor is that each patron can determine his or her check-out period:  7 days, 14, days or 21 days.  I chose 7 days because I don't keep my Wi-Fi turned on, so even though the next patron can get the title after my 7 days are up, the books don't automatically delete from my Kindle when the 7 days are up.  I can continue to download additional titles through my computer and keep them...practically forever. :D
