And I am sure you will all want to set your DVR's to catch the Seattle Seahawks game tomorrow at 1:00 p.m., Eastern; 10:00 a.m., Pacific.  They are playing Houston.  If they should manage to win, they would have a starting record of 4 - 0.

Yesterday was my sister's birthday.  This afternoon, the family's getting together to celebrate before Larry and I go to the SnoHomo Ho-Down.  My sister is actually going out celebrating with her girlfriends, so we have to have her party in the afternoon anyway.

Well, the SnoHomo Ho-Down was pretty darned fun.  It was bingo with a very gay twist.  A four-"man" off-shoot of the Seattle Men's Chorus called ETHEL were the emcees and bingo callers.  There were several very nice raffle items.  I bought a bunch of tickets, but didn't win anything.  There was a lot of rain on the way up to Everett (which is about 85 miles north of Olympia), but otherwise the traffic wasn't bad.  We made pretty good time.

The weather on the way home afterward was much better.  It only rained for a few minutes.  We did see some far away lightning strikes, though.  The big room where it was held was pretty full.  Evidently, a lot of people like bingo in Everett...or they just wanted to support a couple of good causes, which I forget because I left my program in my car.

Finally home from a fairly excruciating production of Little Shop of Horrors.  Must write notes now and get to bed.

Tomorrow, I start running sound for Olympia Family Theater's production of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe."  They're performing in the Black Box (officially called "Stage II") at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, which is being renovated.  I got an e-mail from the stage manager today (finally) and in it she said that the front is temporarily blocked off.  We all have to enter from the back stage door.

It's going to be a long day.  Rehearsal is scheduled from 2 until 8 pm!  I'm sure that there will be plenty of time for breaks and I also remember in past shows that food is (or at least, snacks are) brought in for everyone.  That's always nice. :) It'll be a long day, but I'm sure that it'll be a lot of fun.

I had been asked to run the sound quite a while ago and have been waiting to hear about when I would need to be at tomorrow's rehearsal.  I called Sarah the stage manager yesterday and she finally called me back this morning.  She said that she's been sending e-mails for the last few weeks and didn't realize that I hadn't been getting them!  She also said that she never got any e-mails bounced back as wrong, so she's been sending a complete stranger all her stage manager e-mails!  She told me what she had and it definitely was incorrect.  She sent an e-mail today that I actually got, so it's all straightened out.  I just wonder what the stranger who's been getting all these e-mails thinks...and if he/she will miss them. ;)

Oh...here's my sister's birthday cake.  You can't really tell, but it's two layers and was absolutely delicious!

(It was not vegan...and she didn't mind.)

A less than 4 minute mini-documentary on the IMAX/3-D Wizard of Oz:

That was cool...short, but cool!

I received a lot of really wonderful comments about my little talk.  This one woman came up to me and said that she and her husband had been coming to TLT.  She said they always checked to see if I was going to be in the production, because if I was; they knew that it was going to be good.

Another man came up and said that he and his wife had been coming about the time I started back in 1956, and they said they were very big fans.

That's great, Tom!  Congrats!

DR TCB, glad that last night's event went so well, as we all knew it would. Sorry about the pain you felt, but thrilled that so many people were able to express their appreciation for you so directly! That must have felt great.

Thanks for the recipe, DR John G. Will have to give that a try.

I agree, most of the pre-mixed varieties are inferior. I had tried the Cayman Jack brand, and found it sweeter, fresher, and quite delightful.

BearManor Media is running a special on my two Hollywood memoirs, MY FORTY-FIVE YEARS IN HOLLYWOOD...AND HOW I ESCAPED ALIVE and the just published LIFE, LIBERTY & THE PURSUIT OF HOLLYWOOD. I know that many people on this board have read MY FORTY-FIVE YEARS, but you haven't read the first book, this is a pretty good bargain.

I wonder if "Pug" is a family name that stuck.        :)

I am up. Not feeling 100%. A few hours will tell how the congestion and plugged nose will affect my resonance.

Yes...there's a story behind it.  Her real name is Charlene, but for some reason (I forget the story) her dad started calling her Pug and it just stuck.  She said that she never felt like a "Charlene" and I've never known her as anything other than Pug.  She's thought about legally changing it, but that takes money, and as a starving artist, she has almost none.
