I ride a stationary bike in front of the television and can go for an hour easily.

I'm doing 10 minutes at the moment, but I'd like to go to 15 or 20 at the next session.

So, today was my last session, and they will apply to my HMO for an extension, which I think will go through.

Good Morning / Afternoon / evening!  I am going to think about the TOD.  There have been so many bad audience reactions over the years.

Tonight I am going to see The Rocky Horror Show at DePauw and expect the usual audience reactions to that particular show.

I don't go to the theatre for a few months and then I go 2 nights in one week. Sunday night I'm seeing

Fun Home

a new musical at The Public. I just finished the book last week and I'm curious how this will work out. I really like Michael Cerveris and Judy Kuhn.

Fun Home Playbill

I wasn't planning on seeing the show because the cheapest ticket price is $80 (it's OFF-BROADWAY) but it's just shown up on TDF for $29 ($33 w/the service charge) so I'm going.

I haven't been going to as much theatre this year because the prices are so outrageous and many of the shows I want to see don't appear on TDF, but that's a rant for another time.

Have stopped for a coffee on my way to Wales.

I wonder if Doug goes to Wales to see the ocean?
Since we got to the ocean to see whales?

I got home from therapy and found 17 copies of DEAREST ENEMY sitting on my doorstep. It's sounding mighty good!

And Rob Berman called. He and Joshie are on their way over to visit.

Hello Everyone:

TOD:

It wasn't a musical, but a Neil Diamond Concert.

I was sitting in front of a woman who was screaming throughout the concert at the top of her lungs.

Everyone around me was annoyed, but didn't say anything.  I finally told her to stop, and she said, no, I can scream if I want to.

Finally my friend who was seated directly in front of me, turned around and screamed
"Shut Up".

She finally did.

It really ruined the concert for so many.  I was afraid for the rest of the concert she was going to attack me from behind, so I couldn't wait to leave!

No, I didn't speak about Big Fish.

I really liked it. Kate Baldwin is gorgeous and sings like a dream. Norbert Leo Butz will at least be nominated for a Tony (in my humble opinion) in May. Bobby Steggert is also excellent. Susan Stroman does great things with projections and there is real choreography in the show, not just gymnastics (I don't object to gymnastics but when you call it choreography in a Broadway musical I have a problem with it). I wish Brad Oscar had more to do and it's a bit long but otherwise I thought it was wonderful. I now want to see the movie and possibly even read the book.

BK, I agree with most of your assessment of today's theater audiences.

I find the audience to be better behaved at the local theater rather than the touring shows. Of course, the local theater is mostly old people in the audience.

I find the whole audience thing depressing and demoralizing.  Not to put too fine a point on it.

These characteristics and practices now permeate every performance venue, from professional to rank amateur.  Well, maybe not every single one, but certainly throughout the kinds we're usually talking about here.

While driving to NJ the other day, I was listening to whichever one of those public radio game shows was on WNYC ("Wait Wait", maybe, but I think it was something else).  As every correct answer was given (and those were plentiful, because they were easy questions -- hell, even I coulda won something), a group of whoopers whooped along with the applause at every applause point.  It was sickening.

Maybe BK can write something where an unruly audience gets its collective comeuppance but good. ;)

This Sunday I will be taking my grandniece Taylor to the Broadway tour of ANYTHING GOES. I have no doubt that it will be great fun. And we will not be unruly.

Do you know, Brad, Ben?  He is a good friend of my friends Sharry and Micheal.

it seems like an awful lot of victims for a murder mystery.

Did I tell you, George, that Pug spoke quite highly of you Saturday night.  I, of coure, said you were a horrible person, but she seemed to like you.
