I am concerned that the installer won't be able to install into the rooms I want him to.  My house is very solid and you can't just string through the walls. So, I'm hoping there is a way...

Yesterday I found out that a man who used to paint in my building is really Al Capone's nephew.  Cool

I am waiting for the Diectv installation guy.  It's one of those Between 8:00 and 12:00 things.  I was hoping he'd like to get started early.  Maybe he's drinking coffee first.

These waits are the worst; you're stuck, and if the stars are bad, you'll get a call at noon saying they're running late.  I hope he shows up soon!

The stars are not going to be bad because the weather is great.  I'm guessing the installer would rather come in great weather.  I've had a bunch of confirmation calls and emails.  Hoping that means that he'll really show up

Although I will say I haven't cancelled my cable tv yet.  If the installer doesn't come, I'm not going to stress about it.  It's Saturday and I'd probably be sitting here on the computer anyway

TOD:  The topic is far too broad.  But certainly on the list would be plays by Tom Stoppard &Peter Shaffer, notably:

Stoppard
ARCADIA
THE REAL THING

SHAFFER
THE ROYAL HUNT OF THE SUN
GIFT OF THE GORGON

I hobbled over to the corner bodega and put together a delivery, which will arrive shortly.  My left foot does not want to negotiate stairs at all, which is both irritating and extremely painful. Pepperidge Farm is offering pumpkin cheesecake cookies at the moment, and I hope that will cure my pumpkin cookie/muffin craving for the nonce.

"Awake And Sing,Ye that Dwell In Dust" Isaiah 26:19

I Played Myron Berger In Carnegie Tech's(Mellon's) Production of AWAKE AND SING.
I Love That Play. And Bk- I Agree With You About The 3 Act Format. That Format Is Still Used And Applied In Motion Pictures.

I swear, every time iTunes "upgrades," it makes things more goddam complicated to buy music online. It used t be you could buy the mp3files and download them to your desktop and add to your iTunes. Now, I'm stuck with RealPlayer, nothing works and I'm screwed out of $20. Asses!

Jeez, doesn't anyone consider plays from other countries besides the British Isles and the US?

Good afternoon.  Leaving soon with a couple of friends to go to this Garlic Festival that's about 45 minutes away:

http://garlicfestct.com/index.html

It couldn't be a more beautiful, perfect autumn day for whatever your pleasure is.  All of a sudden it's Columbus Day Weekend, which is prime peak foliage time around here anyway, and I was just amazed when I went out for a bit this morning.

I have been racking (wracking?) my brain thinking about Mikey B's  food heating  problem

Is there such a thing  as a battery operated food warmer?

I have not been able to find one online

Interesting observation, since BK asked our favorites, not "the best of the century" - maybe we gravitate towards the familiar language???

It's a tough list to come up with.  For example, I so loved THE SHADOW BOX and AS IS when I saw them, but they don't seem to have lasted.  And yet they were real favorites as far as seeing plays are concerned.
