Well the worst of the storms went just to the north and the south of us, so we got some wind and rain....but nothing damaging...  It was scary for awhile though.

This morning is the first meeting for the cast of ACHILLES/ACHILLES SON, which I will now begin referring to as A/A.....

I have received an email telling me that if I have chosen the show to be my winter term project, I will have to rehearse/workshop/discuss at least 6 hours per day M/F beginning January 6.  I also have to take part in the production and the strike to get credit....  I do not think this applies to me.

If I knew this, I'd forgotten it until an email from The University of Michigan Alumni Association reminded me:  Margo Martindale was a year behind me there and I saw her in at least 2 musicals - FUNNY GIRL as Mrs. Brice (1972) and WEST SIDE STORY as Bessie Shawn (1973).  I think her current series on CBS is a tremendous waste of her talent.  Here's the article:

Margo Martindale

Maurice Jarre is one of the great ones.

He used to be a publicity client.  I did his Oscar campaign for MOHAMMED, MESSENGER OF GOD (aka: THE MESSAGE).  We got the nomination for Best Original Score, but that, unfortunately, was the year of STAR WARS.

Love Margo. I think the first time I saw her was in Nobody's Fool and she was great in her scenes with Paul Newman. Then her season on Justified was excellent.

I do enjoy Margo Martindale but as Ginny said, what a waste. I guess you do jobs when you need the money or the work but god, what an awful show she's in (and Beau Bridges also). I've tried to watch an entire episode but for me, it's an impossible mission. The writing is embarrassing and the plots give a new definition to the word "stupid" It's sad (and hard to believe) that the great James Burrows is part of this mess.

I also feel the same about Mom. Alison Janney, OMG!!!

In show biz, unless you are a MAJOR star or are independently wealthy, work is work.  You go where the jobs are.

And, you never know if your current job will be your last.

DR Ben, you and I are on the same page!  Another waste in Margo's series is Jayma Mays, who I thought was one of the best in GLEE.  As for MOM, the promos kept me from watching because I could see how embarrassing it would be for Dayton-local Allison Janney

I must say, except for the time-stamps that need fixing, we're back in fine form -- without any of the lag that we were experiencing intermittently even after the bigger slowdown earlier last week or whenever it was.  At any rate, that's what I'm enjoying at present.

Having been in the business for over 20 years (I've been out for 22 years) I know that you have to take work as it comes but that doesn't mean that the work doesn't suck.

As if I haven't had enough meat lately, the office is going to a Brazilian steakhouse today for holiday lunch.

I'm up, I'm up.  Had the telephonic call, so that's out of the way.  I think I got almost eight hours of sleep - not quite enough, but am I glad I actually announced before bedtime!

The time stamps on the posts are what's wonky at least on my screen.  According to the post above, I made it at three-forty-three in the morning.

My time stamps at home this morning were fine but now, here at the office, they are wildly off. This one says 5:44AM

That's what's so crazy about it.  You'd think time stamps have to be either all right or all wrong.  (Time ZONE adjustments notwithstanding.)

I mean, they're all generated at one source, right?

And now, Chas, your time stamp looks correct 1:04pm (it's 1:15 pm right now)

Well, that went through quickly so maybe we're better now?  And the timestamp is an hour ahead now, so maybe the board didn't automatically adjust for non-Daylight Savings time?
