If I recall correctly, the song Rainbows was used in the recent Marry Me a Little revamp.

Interesting. I didn't know they'd revamped it. Then again, when I first did it, we added things, thanks to Mr. S., that at the time were still in the trunk, but now are out there for anyone.

It's very quiet about the apartment today. And because of the snow, it's been very quiet outside. This afternoon I washed everything that soaked all night and I now have sox, trousers, and towels all free of blood stains.

It's time for another damned Channel 13 fund drive on PBS so my Britcoms are off tonight as well. I swear that damned PBS spends a good week a month on these pleas for money. After having worked on a PBS sponsored broadcast (Emmy winning, to boot!) for little money - because they plead poverty and it's an honor to work for nothing for them -  and seeing how much money was wasted on the whims of the music director, the director/choreographer, and the producer, PBS will never get a cent from me.

So, I'm going to read a bit and crash. I have a lot of work tomorrow and a party tomorrow night.

I just got a nice message on FB from Jason Graae's partner and our friend Michele McKenzie. Jason's in Houston, I think, wreaking some Christmas mischief.

We have turned into Christmas curmudgeons.  I haven't even sent any cards.  I used to embrace Christmas, oh well.

The only two gifts we are buying are for Bryan and Craig, well Bryan's will also be for his wife.  I'm browsing for special food items.  My first stop is at Zingerman's were I might have found something for Craig, a deep fried pickle making kit.  I want to search more for vegan gifts for him.

I am trying  an experiment for dinner- I have never used my slow cooker for anything but chili today I put a piece of pork loin, some fingerling potatoes, some cut carrots and a package of Lipton onion soup mix and some water in the slow cooker and turned in on--- we'll see how it turns out --

If its a miserable failure pizza is only a mouse click away.....

Here's a line from the notes on the new Marry Me a Little recording: "This recording will be the first for "Rainbows," written for the yet un-produced Into the Woods film. "

This morning was The Little Yellow Dog auction.   This year's dog was Snickers.  He went for $15,000.00

The All America Concert Band played It's a really fun event. I love doing it.  The dogs from the past two years were there looking happy and very spoiled.

8 or 9 years ago we bought a pre-lighted Christmas tree and last year watched several sections go dark as lights burned out.  We tried to put it together tonight, but soon realized that all the lights had to come off.  Richard and I worked through the entirety of WHITE CHRISTMAS on DVD, a couple episodes of BIG BANG THEORY, and all of THE SOUND OF MUSIC rebroadcast on NBC, and we finally have all the lights removed.  Tomorrow we'll try to buy new ones.

No trip to Lima because the weather up there is still pretty bad.  We had a lot of rain and melting today that's expected to refreeze overnight.  Glad we don't have to be on the road before dawn tomorrow.

Tonight the flute choir played at the pioneer village in Le Mars.  We're just sort of background actually. There are people who sit and listen, but it's not like a concert. The area we play in is where they have all the trees decorated by people in the community.  It's where they give away hot cocoa and popcorn balls.  Anyway, it was fun to do until I started to accompany on the piano on Sleigh Ride Samba.  We all assumed the piano would be in tune....guess again.  It was really bad   I had to laugh.  Other than that I think we sounded good.

I spent the last couple of days at a wildlife preserve. The geese and cranes have learned to tease the photographers by staying in the middle of the very big fields.
