It is so cold here and we have  plenty of snow.  I think I'll just stay home today and of course at some point watch a movie.

The other night the hubby and I watched THE IMPOSSIBLE.

I thought it was very good., Rate 8/10

I had a few of these over the years - I used to enjoy the smell of the burning wood but I don't know what they actually did.

Round one errands done!  Bought my customary 2 small poinsettias and brought them home out of the cold.  I'm grabbing some lunch before heading out for round 2.

The view from DR Elmore's penthouse aerie!

Yes, the third floor penthouse.

DR MBarnum, if I win the lottery, I'm going going to learn who the Henry Willson of Bollywood is and send him a lot of money to hire you as a full time advisor.

This Last supper reminds me of my landlady when I was a grad student living at a Miami University apartment complex called Block M. She collected Last Suppers - knitted, crocheted, jigsaw puzzle, tile, painted by number, ashtray, plate, cup, saucer, you name it - and I loved to go pay my rent just to marvel over the collection. They were everywhere!

She had a mouth as bad as mine, but she always tried to talk genteely with me: "I told them bastar - er, darned kids that the fuckin - er, swimmin' pool wouldn't be ready until May and to keep their fat asse - to stay out of it until then."

She was a complete hoot, straight out of a John Waters movie!

I hadn't thought of her in years. I'm glad I've got her back in my head for the memoirs.

Sad to hear, DR JRand.  Richard just heard some similar news from his class.

Good for you, DR Jane!  Quite impressive.

Thank you.

Thanks to DR Jennifer's curiosity and prompting I took a guess as to how many books I normally read and accepted the Goodreads challenge.

DR Singdaw when I purchased my Nook HD I had them download the Goodreads aap for me.  I haven't figured out, or it doesn't do everything as my regular link to them.

DR TCB I have a book wish list at my eBook library, on Goodreads, and a small one at Barnes and Noble.  The one at B & N is a small list with only books my library doesn't carry.

DR Cilla I like what you would do with your lottery winnings.  I would make very nice donations to my favorite charities and your will be on my list.
