Southern Ohio is much hillier than northern, which was quite a surprise to me when I moved here from Michigan.

And, the older we get, the steeper our driveway gets!

Oh, I know the beauty of the hills in and around Cincinnati, starting around South Lebanon on I-71 (I think).  So you're closer to all of that than I'd thought.  Eastern and Southeastern Ohio, too.  When I was a kid, we took regular drives from Columbus to Morgantown WV, for family visits, on the original US 40.  A couple of years ago I was driving across I-70 in that area and decided to get on the old road for a few miles, and I was absolutely amazed at the dramatic topography.  I always remembered those being "long" trips, and the hilliness would certainly be one of the reasons why.

DR Ginny:  steep driveway??

Description, please.  (You People in the great Midwest don't know what a steep driveway is.)     :)

It's about a 30 degree slope, DR ChasSmith.  When it's snowing, you have to open the door and drive up with great confidence.  Stopping midway and trying to start again would cause a slide to the left into a stone wall or to the right into Lucille's back yard.  She would not be amused, I guarantee.

Only 30?  I would have guessed more! It's steep.

And my ticket for the Harnick revue came through. Since it seems to take me over an hour to get there, I guess I'll leave around 6:30 tonight.

After lunch, I'll get off the iPad and onto my computer and see what I can find.

Aren't some GPS devices synched with traffic so that it tells you if you are going to have a delay?  That could be useful for someone like BK who seems to get stuck in traffic.

At a press conference, Russian president Vladimir Putin says that LGBT tourists are welcome at the Winter Olympics, so long as they don't "prey on children."

Close enough. ;)

I got here at about 15 minutes late, but it's not a problem.

Greetings from BoltBus!  I think I'm somewhere in New Jersey (on the way to NYC).  The weekend had long been planned--several friends will be in NY for the Wizard of Oz concert (not sure what it entails) on Monday. There are several singers performing, including Rosyln Kind.

Ditto on the congrats to DR Elmo on "Dearest Enemy" making TalkinBroadway's "Top 10".

Santa gave me a copy of this for Christmas and it's sitting fairly closely to the CD player.

I thought that said Sinatra gave you a copy of it, and was mightily impressed for a moment.

My Santa is way more impressive than Sinatra ever was.

Not sure how long the battery on my mini-laptop will hold out.

Anyway, I decided to go today instead of tomorrow.

Appetizer I had last night. It was smoked beets (so, it was barbecue in Texas) with a beet meringue on top. You don't get to see the goat cheese at the center or the slivers of radishes tossed in. But the flavors of this dish were really impressive and the crunch of that meringue was wonderful.
