My boss also gave permission for me to send a prepaid FEDEX label to the motel for the return of the cellphone

I faxed it over and "Karla" acknowledged receipt so hopefully the cellphone will be home soon

He is on a good guy roll today :)

Yes - we were very lucky he came in and experienced the driving difficulties himself - I think he was also pleased that those of us that came in  had dressed in business attire not jeans and boots, were on time and never mentioned the weather or hinted at early dismissal

AH the joys of the South!

In NY I suspect I would have received a two word response consisting of  7 letters, if I was granted a response at all...

In Savannah I heard "Why ma'am, it would be my pleasure to help y'all"

and he turned right around moved his truck next to mine and minutes later  the van was back in business!

He absolutely refused to take anything from me and told me  "Pay it forward"

I looked around and Vixdad was missing - turns out he was busy buying a Cracker Barrel gift card - he caught  up with our good Samaritan and insisted he take it with our thanks

:)

I believe in preparedness for disaster on long road trips especially  in winter

I have a big rubbermaid box in the rear of the van in which I have a collapsible snow shovel, a new set of jumper cables, a blanket, a battery operated lantern, a gallon of -40 windshield deicer, 3 golf umbrellas, a first aid kit, a 6x6 ground sheet, several rain ponchos, a 40 gallon trash bag,a hagstrom map, a air compressor,  a roll of paper towels, three bath towels,  several bottles of water, 2 collapsible camp chairs and a frisbee.

You are prepared!  Where are the snack bars ;)

Fresh hell-free vibes for Elmore.

And stay upright vibes, too.

Is fresh hell better or worse than stale hell?

Fresh or stale, the hell you know is often better than some new brand.

I love the photos, Vixmom. You seem to match Pooh's honey pot.

As I recall, Elmore was asking what fresh hell was next. Perhaps fresh hell is like a cat, as far as Elmore is concerned. Cats know I'm allergic to them and they come running to me. I love them, so I don't mind.

Thanks for all these wonderful birthday wishes from bk and the DRs. I hope shows go well tonight, legs are broken, (except for Elmore's) animal friends are healthy, people are traveling safely. I gues I just missed Vixmom in Savannah, where I went last weekend to show AKA DOC POMUS. I guess I shook too many hands because when I left I could tell I was coming down with something and today it's a fullblown sinus cold. So I am laying low and will celebrate later! Love all y'all, and that the southern hospitality that Vixmom experienced is a very real thing; glad you were helped in your time of need! XOX
