I searched Amazon on Kimmel Red Gold, and this is what came up...      ;D

Somehow, I don't think it's quite the same thing...

No, but the cover is cute!

Today I'll be cooking a ton (well, nearly a ton) of corned beef and cabbage with red potatoes and carrots, to the sounds of EILEEN.

It seems to be it has become a day like St. Valentine, President's, Memorial just to celebrate and have sales. People seem to forget what it really is all about.

And corn beef and cabbage isn't even Irish. I'm not sure how that tradition got started. But I have a friend from Dublin and they told me they don't even eat it there.

Well we just had us a rather irritating earthquake. Went on for about ten seconds or so and a small bit of intense shaking.

My cabaret series is tonight and I see that the schedule performer is Will Chase is being replace by Karen Olivio. They call her a Tony Winner.

I've never heard of. I don't have the time to look her up. Anyone know who she is?

bk, it seems to me that you need a full-time, dedicated personal assistant to help you keep track of your calendar.          :)

The 4.7 quake appears to have been centered in Westwood.

DR Mike is right, of course, that the meal and probably just about everything else have absolutely nothing whatever to do with St. Patrick or with being Irish.  I am none of the above, myself.  I just love the food, and will eat a nice corned beef at the drop of a hat.  And at the drop of another hat.

You know that phono cartridge I said probably should be up for replacement by now?  Of course you do.  You've thought of nothing else since I posted of it.

Well, guess what happened yesterday.  It broke!  I put a record on the turntable and found the stylus (the part with the LI'L diamond or whatever the needles are made of) BENT.  The poor little thing was turned at a right angle to the grooves!

I was actually able to nudge it back into alignment (more or less) just enough to check out this record for a minute.  It didn't play well, but I heard what I needed to hear.  And in the end, no harm done.  It had probably gone many hundreds of hours over its expected service life, and I will do some research today on what to replace it with.  It's not that I needed something new to spend money on, but let's face it, getting a new one that will probably sound fabulous will be kind of nice.
