Very strange thing happened to me yesterday:

One of my co-workers gave me a set of keys to pass on to a company which bought one of our buildings.

I handled the keys briefly and put them in an envelope.

About 30 minutes later, I had a metallic taste in my mouth.

About an hour later, the metallice taste was stronger and I had a tightening in my chest.

An hour later and I was back to normal and remain so (if whatever I'm feeling like is actually normal).

Never have had an experience like that!

Afternoon, all!

We have a new DR?! Where?! When?! Welcome!

Sorry to hear about all the headaches in mixing the album, bk. Sounds like quite the clam-bake (do people still call bad notes "clams?")

TOD:
On ye olde iPod: Assorted a capella Sabbath songs
the DVD drive: Bill Cosby
Youtube playlist: shut down for now (durned oppressive work firewalls)
Nightstand: Ken Follett's World Without End, Lincoln Peirce's Big Nate: In a Class by Himself

Oh, and I really do need to update my avatar, don't I?

What a great photos, DR Elan!

Sorry about your frustrations, DR ChasSmith.

Now, if only I could concentrate on my work. I did get the bbq manuscript sent back to the publisher. Hopefully all questions are answered to their liking.

It was just sort of amusing, DR John G., not frustrating.  I'm fine with the one-day delay on getting those things done.

I'm up, I'm up - was up at nine-thirty, fell back asleep, and then got up at ten-fifteen.  But I didn't fall asleep until two.

Anyone involved have any ties to CIA, etc.?  (Anything can be possible.)

I'm sure several DRs will vouch for this, but while I've left NY, I still have WQXR (a great radio/internet station) with me and had become a member quite a while ago.  There's a new article on the WQXR website about bad things audiences do that annoy performers and performances:

What's new on the playlist is what's old:

CD: Bach's Brandenburg Concerti by Trevor Pinnock and the European Brandenburg Ensemble
Pop Memories of the '60s box set

DVD: The Essential Laurel & Hardy
The Complete All in the Family

Up from a short nap. Back to the paper. It feels like it's always back to the paper. I have hit page 40. That at least is news that seems headed in the right direction.

Thanks Bruce, and lucky you :)  I think the advise to let them read this over the summer is a good one.  I just hope our book group survives the summer.

Had an interesting morning.

Took a studio tour of our local public radio station, MPR (Minnesota Public Radio), which is second in size only to WNYC. We were in the control booth with the classical morning host while she was on the air, which was fun.

Then headed over to the Veteran's Home, where we serenaded the DH's college organ professor with some hymns. He is now in the memory unit, which is sad. We don't know if he really remembered us, but he "came out of it" when we started in on the music, and was mouthing the words to some of the hymns with tears in his eyes, so that was gratifying that we got through to him.

Meanwhile, at the same time, a college classmate of mine was on the air at Indiana Public Radio, helping host a morning program. I was able to catch her first 10 minutes before I had to leave the house.

From DR Cilla:
Quote
I always looked forward to Christmas. I looked forward to all the family at Easter until the year the family all piled into a couple different cars while I was in the bathroom at the church and I came out and they were gone. It's funny, I remember that almost every year. It wasn't intentional, but I wasn't that old and it was most unpleasant

How long before they realized you were missing?  I've been left a few times in my life.  The first time was at the airport.  The worst part was after the long while it took me to find them no one had noticed I was missing.

Yikes!!  Have you tried to find out what those symptoms could indicate?  Hopefully, since they didn't last, it isn't serious.

In the absolutely infuriating department, two boxes arrived today - one containing twenty softcovers of Red Gold - those are freebies and useless to me.  My five free hardcovers of Red Gold also arrived in a box with ten There's Mel's that I needed.  The other ninety Red Golds did NOT arrive and will not arrive until Monday - because they shipped one day later than the other two boxes.  Of course, I wasn't told that - I was told they all shipped together on Monday.  So, instead of this running smoothly, we're now up against the wall in terms of getting everything shipped before the helper is gone for eight days.  Whether Grant can get here on Monday to get the signed limitation sheets in the books is anyone's guess, but if he can't I'll just do that myself and hope for the best.  Monday is also a Kritzerland rehearsal that starts at three and doesn't end until six-thirty, so if they don't arrive before two then I don't know how I'm supposed to get them and when I'm supposed to sign them - perhaps the helper will go pick them up and bring them here.

Because a handful of spam registrations have gotten through, which is amazing since three questions have to be answered - one spambot has gotten through twice - I Googled that and it's a well-known spambot on our discussion board software's message board - so I added one more question that isn't generic, but anyone who comes to this site will know how to answer it easily.

This week's MODERN FAMILY was very funny.

We still have it to watch.  Tonight we are finally going to watch SAVING MR BANKS which came into our local Redbox today.  It isn't available on Blu-ray but we rented it anyway.

BACK...

With neither emissions nor tires done!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my morning thus far.

It sounds a bit frustrating.
