It's been a strange week and not helped by my erratic sleeping patterns--if you can call it a pattern at all. At times I am desperate for sleep. I go to bed early, but don't fall asleep until 1:30 am. Other nights I fall asleep right away, but wake up at 5 am, knowing full well I won't be able to go back to sleep. If it wasn't for my favorite little Rescue Sleep product I question whether I'd sleep at all. The problem is partly noise and partly me. Sigh.

Does your white noise maker sooth you to sleep at all? I find if I want to nap and turn that on it helps a lot.

What a busy little day this relaxing day turned into.  I had a meatless Cobb salad and a bagel for my meal o' the day, picked up some packages, stopped at CVS to get a few things, then came home.  Then I had to spend ninety minutes matching cue titles to the tracks - very hard, but got it done so just waiting on cue titles for the third title in our release, then I can get the packaging done.  Then Kay Cole came over and we went through my Abner questions and made a few adjustments.  Then I finally sat on my couch like so much fish, just to close my eyes for a few minutes.

Well at least they can't say that we didn't get to page 6 last night.

( Thank you, DR George!    ;D  )

And what is your excuse today?

I am in Springfield, OH, about an hour from home for the AAUW Ohio state convention.  Middletown members staffed the registration room from 4-8 today.  Anita, Nita, and I are here until Sunday for the entire conference and Barb, Debbie, Lois, and Sharon came up today just to help with registration.

Mom said she remembers Jan Mitchell really well and she also thought my sister was one of her students.

Mom and dad keep missing phone calls because they don't get to the phone in time

So I bought them a 5 handset phone system (well cordless phones) and put one by each of their chairs, one by each of their beds and then the main stations.  We left their other phones where they were.  Now they have about 10 different phones they can answer.  Perhaps I will get fewer of the "did you just call me" calls

Then we moved a desk into the den where dad hangs out a lot.  I moved his desktop computer down from his bedroom and got him set up in his den. So he has his recliner, his tv and his computer all in one spot where he can look outside.  His computer was in the far corner of his bedroom and wasn't a real pleasant place to sit all the time.  I did set up his old computer in the bedroom so if he can't sleep and wants to get on the computer he doesn't have to go downstairs

We had a very fun lunch at Don Jose's.   I told them in Spanish that it was mom's birthday, so she was surprised when they came with a sparkler in her flan and put a sombrero on her while everyone sang happy birthday.  There was a big table next to us that joined in.  She pretends she doesn't like people to make a big deal, but she loves it.

The funniest part was she had just said "I'm glad they don't know it's my birthday because I don't want that hat on my head that's been worn by who knows who" when they came and put the sombrero on her head.  LOL, she loved it

I came home late in the afternoon and they headed to Fairmont to see Catherine Russel a jazz singer with my brother and his wife and Adam and Katie.  The weather was beautiful.  Mom got phone calls from friends and family, flowers from DR Samantha and had a wonderful day.  It was nice to see

Did I tell you all that I thought the raccoon was back but it was just a cat that fell through my window well cover?   I went out to try to free it and discovered it had no problem getting out, but was likely in there hissing at the cats through the window who were hissing right back.
