John G at lunch today our resident foodie was talking about barbeque and how you can;t really get good barbeque hereabouts He is a fan of the barbque with more of "bite" (as a opposed to the really sweet stuff which I lean to )
by any chance can you suggest a mustard based barbeque sauce he could whip up? He is also trying to figure out how to barbeque "like they do in the South"
This is not a man afraid of a kitchen he just ordered a machine so he can make his own sausages at home
will there be tips and recipes in your new barbeque book or is it strictly a restaurant guide?
On the barbecue sauce, I would suggest that he Google the style he likes and read two or three recipes before trying his own. that way he can include sugar or leave it out, add cumin or not, etc. Then he can doctor the recipe to his tastes. That's more fun anyway.
When it comes to barbecue, Texas isn't the South, so I would look for cookbooks from Memphis, North or South Carolina to find what he's looking for. We do have a good and easy pulled pork recipe that's going to be in the barbecue book.
There are about 40-50 recipes in all.
