Home from City Center! Joshie and I are set for tomorrow's orchestra reading of IRMA LA DOUCE.

Don't like the artwork for this production with the green stockings. But I do love that score. How many accordions in the pit?

Hello. I think "Rocky - the Musical" would have been a great show for Stephen Findle.

The snow seems to be intensifying. I have to go out tonight for choir rehearsal.

Once you finish Red Gold, if you're looking for something light and fun, you might want to consider this:

Been listening to the 1998 Varese release "Classic TV Game Show Themes" and realized how many of the well-known themes were written by Robert Israel.  It might even be fun to hear someone do a cover version of the theme to "To Tell The Truth" which has some far-out late 1969 lyrics. ;)

Is that the Robert Israel who does silent film scoring and accompaniment?

Only one, but he's the best in New York!

I think it's a 10-piece band or so: 2 trombones, accordion, tack piano-celesta, guitar, flute, clarinet, bass, and two percussion. I think that's the orchestration. I'll know tomorrow.

Happy mid-Hump Day, all!

Been up to my ears and eyes in two scripts and new songs, and am soon off to sing and bite people. Yanno, the vampire-y musical, because, who doesn't want singing vampires. Oh, the things we do for a dollar (the original title of "What I Did for Love")    :P

BK, I did start RED GOLD last night. Have not had much time with it yet, but I already love the flavor, the characters and the writing. I'm going to savor this one.

Off and running again... or flapping...or something   :D

Time for me to leave work.  I'm ushering tonight for Pink Martini and The Von Trapp Singers!  I'm sure that it'll be fantastic!

Be back later!

How the camera never lie and add 10-30 pounds? It seems to do both in my case.

It also seems to add a few decades to my age
