Had some chicken soup, some chicken tenders (small and one less than usual), and some tap tap tapioca pudding).  My throat feels much less scratchy today.  I'm pretty nasally but keep sending those excellent vibes and xylophones and we may just nip this thing in the bud.

Today, I'm happy to learn that there are two additional over-the-air TV channels that broadcast over the sub-channels on digital signal in my area, which, for someone like me who does not have cable/satellite, is a potential bonanza for alternative choices to the humdrum standard broadcast fare.  The first is called "getTV" and right now, from the listings anyway, this channel is showing the Lex Baxter movies in which he plays Old Shatterhand in the German-French-(Yugoslavian?) co-production of the Winnetou series by Karl May.  These movies predated the Spaghetti Westerns.  The other channel that I should be able to receive is ION TV, which I am familiar with from NY (at one time it seemed to play "Mama's Family" ad infinitum), but I am less excited about it save for the fact that it adds to my limited over-the-air choices.

Unfortunately, I cannot program my stupid TV right now and will have to wait until a friend does it for me.  The stupid TV I have is not the one I had in my other apartment (that was lifted by the robbers).  That one I could program.  This one is a poor substitute and since there is an after-market remote with it, I find it to be next to impossible to do anything without erasing current channels or muting the sound.

Not that I need to read reviews to pick up this book.  I love the title, the cover, and the blurb about the book.

Speaking of reading, I should get back to my library books.  The sooner I'm caught up, the sooner I can read Red Gold though a part of me is cherishing that I have this to look forward to.

There's one review on Barnes and Noble and it's a goodie.  I don't think many people do reviews on that site like they do on amazon.  Goodreads - I have done those giveaways on the last three books and everyone applies for them, you send out ten books and no one reviews them, or, if they do, you're being reviewed by some opinionated teen who trashes it because it doesn't conform to the kinds of books they like or characters they like.  One such young lady of eighteen informed her "reading public" of three people that no sixteen-year-old would ever call their mother "mommy".  Really?  Note to young lady: Just because you live in such a rather silly world, does not mean that the majority of young girls inhabit it with you.  I happen to know at least ten sixteen-year-old girls who call their mothers mommy because, oh, I don't know, call me crazy, that's what girls of that age have been calling their mothers for decades - oh, I do realize there is a subset of entitled kids who have been parented by parents trying to be their "friends" rather than actual parents and yes, they probably call their mothers by their first names.  Phooey on that.

Yes, I remember that.  I wouldn't suggest you do the giveaway again but those who have put reviews on Amazon might just as easily post the review on the other sites.  I rarely use Amazon, mostly because they they tag me with ads for anything I look up.

MY sixteen  year old  did not call me "Mommy".... she called me Mama  (still does at 20 years, 11 months and 26 days)
