I am back from having that most unpleasant of diagnostic tests, a colonoscopy, with all the unpleasantness that the preparation entails. It felt so good to be able to eat today! Also, a good report - no polyps, so I don't have to have my next one for 5 more years.

Great news, Singdaw!!

Speaking of Hal David, DR Mike, Ella Fitzgerald has a wonderful, creamy version of "Candy" on her "Twelve Nights in Hollywood" compilation. She sang it because he was in the audience one night, but she doesn't know the lyrics -- and it doesn't matter. I don't think I've ever heard the song sung better. Just delicious.

Have you heard Ella's live version of "Mack the Knife" from her "Live in Berlin" recording, where she again doesn't know the lyrics?  I love that recording!  She's fantastic.

I just called my uncle to wish him a happy 94th birthday.  I wish my aunt had been home as it is difficult to carry on a phone conversation with him.  The last year hasn't been too good for him.
Sigh.

Happy Birthday to your uncle, Jane!  (Not to be confused with "Uncle Jane" ;))

Poor Sami has to go in for a brain scan today - her brother slammed a door shut and unfortunately Sami's head was in the way - he didn't see her there.  That was three days ago and her head has hurt her sporadically so better safe than sorry - she probably has a minor concussion.  She'll still probably come to rehearsal but she won't have to do anything strenuous tonight.

~~~Quick and Complete Recovery Vibes for Sami!!~~~
94 is certainly a ripe old age!  Best birthday wishes to the DU of DR Jane.
And I am home from physical therapy and my EMG on my lower back and legs, wherein I was prodded, poked, and pricked. It was either electrodes or needles and both hurt and were unpleasant. I was also lying on a narrow table far too narrow for all the turns I had to make.
I like my doctor, who's Vietnamese, I think, but he's very young and has little sense of humor. At one point, he said, I have to change the needle, and I replied, I feel like a gramophone. Zip! Right over Wilt Chamberlain's head.
Because of my schedule for this month, my next appointment with him is on June 2. After a cursory examination of the exam, he said that he believed some of the nerve damage is diabetes related but that a lot of damage seems to have occurred years ago. I suspect there's another MRI in my future.
Yes. I think there was a lot of equal opportunity in our gang.
Thanks Ginny, I hope so.  I wish my aunt had been home and I'm wondering why she was at physical therapy-if I heard correctly.  My uncle has round the clock care making it easier on my aunt.  I've met one of the caregivers and he was very nice.
Our company should be here any minute.  Once they are here I don't know if I will have free time to stop in until they leave on Friday.  I hope I will.  I especially don't want to miss DR Danise.  I also want to know if Sami is ok.
