TOD:
I'm still not back in full swing re having the time to sit down and watch things as much as I'd like. Last night I sampled Curtis Harrington's NIGHT TIDE (1960) which I'd never seen but which looks like loads of fun, with mucho location shooting on the Santa Monica Pier and other such venues, and a nice jazzy score by David Raksin. Kino's release includes an hour-long vintage TV talk-show interview with Harrington, and a commentary track by Harrington and Dennis Hopper which, also sampled, promises to contain plenty of worthy recollection and information.
Also sampled my just-received London cast IRMA LA DOUCE, a fascinating release.
