Okay, these are my favorite notes to date re LI'L ABNER.  A dream show has come together.  I wish more than anything that I could be flying out there today.

What Charles said.

BK, I am just so happy for you.

TOD:

Far too many of my favorite movies are disliked by audiences and critics alike. I don't understand it.

For those who might be interested...and you know who you are...you can get the entire series of GIDGET on dvd from Amazon.com for less than $9.00.

DWTS:

I figured it would come down to James Maslow and Meryl Davis, with Amy Purdy a possible dark horse.  Now I find that Candace Cameron Bure's "following" (including that of her brother, Kirk, apparently) are propping her up WAY above her abilities or true appeal.  She should have been gone before Danica, so something other than dancing appeal is at work here.

I found an interesting article on thermography.

If you read the article I suggest also reading the comments.

DR Jeanne, thanks for mentioning this.  If this really works maybe I wouldn't also need an MRI.

I also learned that the Bloody Mary, which was named after Queen Mary I, daughter of Henry VIII, not Mary Queen of Scots, was invented at Harry's American Bar in Paris, an establishment that was recreated onstage in the 1933 musical ROBERTA.

Interesting.

TOD:

Most people I know (including my wife) hate THE ENGLISH PATIENT.  It's not one of my favorite movies, but I do like it...and so did the Academy.

I wouldn't say I hated it.  I think I found it fairly boring.

I've got my contacts in, which at the moment aren't focusing so perfectly, and I thought DR Laura said she had spent a lovely couple of days out of town looking for brides.

That is how my hearing works these days.  I often sound like an idiot responding incorrectly to something said to me. ;D

And in other news, I drank the last diet Vernors last night, and I'm saving the last eight regular ones for, I dunno, a special occasion?  But I just got back from a quick shopping trip to a supermarket that isn't my usual one, and they carried several brands of ginger beer.  Since I'm "dieting" at the moment, I went for the one they had in a diet version:

It's chilling now.  As am I.

Okay, so, for no other reason than it'll get us one post further along on this page, here's a picture of a duck and the third rail, which I like to call "Duck and Third Rail".

The vibes worked, we almost finished "Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat" - a couple of things didn't work, so I will be improving those on Wednesday evening.

Musically it wasn't very good - but our vocal director is back on Wednesday to sharpen it up!
