TWO-A-DAY

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were two-a-day, and now it is time for you to post until the two-a-day cows come home - they were going to come home after their MOOtinee, and yet, they did not.

Good morning, all ... WAY too early.

But I've been awake for over an hour already, so I guess I'm saying the hell with it and getting up.

The ABNER reviews are wonderful and, I trust, rewarding to BK and the entire company.

really too bad that the shoe (a Ed Sullivan reference) didn't have a longer run I would have love to come back to LA to have seen it.

Good morning, all! Thank you for the vibes so far this past evening and this morning! We could really use them, so keep them coming!  This recording isnot easy, and I really thought that it would be.

I won't see Rob Berman today since he's not making the trek with me; after hearing Act One and making some comments, he'd be bored to death while Judy and I fight over every change I ask for.  There are a lot of tracks, including the appendix, for Act Two. We actually have a wonderful working relationship, and I've loved her to death for thirty years, but when divas collide . . .

I don't know how long we will go today, but I'm guessing we will work as long as we can to see how far we get.  We most likely will not finish this one until the middle of June.  Still, I think we will give Mr Kern's fans something very nice to remember him by. For those who know the film of ROBERTA - and I love Astaire and Rogers - it may be  bit of a surprise. So, I'll leave here about 8:30 or so, bus to 96th Street, stop at the deli and get a sandwich, and then get on the subway. We're going to begin at 10 this morning.

DR TCB, I'm so happy you felt up to having lunch yesterday!

DR vixmom, you need a day to sleep in and do little. I worry that your limited amounts of sleep are hurting your health.

I'm still laughing over the nuptials of Mikey and George Clooney. The first thing to go would be that Bollywood porn collection. Now that will put Barnum's libido in a state.

Fantastic press and response for LI'L ABNER! Given my mobility, balance problems and physical state, I think I made the right decision in turning BK down, but I would kill to be in LA to see it. I would love to hear David's orchestrations and watch BK's staging and Kay's choreography. I wish for BK nothing but good things and a long life for this show.

So, I have to get my energy in gear and myself together. I keep thinking, tomorrow morning you can sleep in! And I plan to.

What would you say to some gratuitous photos to help move us along?

A few phone pics.  First, the obligatory shot of Trinity Church as seen from down the delightfully narrow Wall Street, one of the delightfully narrow winding streets of the financial district.  That's the side of the NY Stock Exchange building on the left.

This snapshot doesn't do the beautiful grounds justice.  Maybe I can do better next week.
I think you can click all of these for somewhat larger images.

Finally (yes, finally), my lovely view of the proceedings.

I'm superstitious about any surprises emanating from my phone, so I had it turned off throughout the performance.

Friday morning greetings!  It's a lovely day here in SW Ohio and they say this beautiful weather is here throughout the holiday weekend.  Today I have a routine doctor's appointment and then some errands.

Thanks for the photos, DR ChasSmith!  Nice set-up for my video viewing later today.  It looks like you sat yesterday about where DR Elmore sat last week.

The good news and reviews keep coming for bk and the Abner company; I know that they are all quite well deserved.  Sure wish I could see this production!

I love reading everything about it.

(  ps - bk, consider Cheyenne Jackson for the role of Abner in the Broadway transfer.   :)   )
