Amy, I like your ideas, especially Yip Harburg.

I'll second that.

Got back to town; had lunch with a few friends.  Now preparing to go to another friend's home for dinner.

Just a typical Monday.  I am such a social butterfly.      :)

Thank you for fluttering by.

Topic of the Day (again):
How about Hal Prince -- Part II? Michael Sterling mentioned that there were soooo many shows you couldn't include in the last one because there's simply too many. You could replace 'Possibilities' from
'It's a Bird, It's a Plane...' with 'Ooh, Do You Love You?', another song sung by a single person while someone else just stands there and gets offended. It's a very funny song, if done right.

A shame you had to miss last night's show.

You're not saying you did "Ooh, Do You Love You?" in last night's show, are you?

TOD:

Love your suggestions, Amy.

How about Hot and Cold, songs about the weather, including Heat Wave, Snow from White Christmas, Autumn from Titanic, Spring, Spring Spring, Too Darn Hot, Baby, It's Cold Outside, I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm, It's Cold Enough to Snow

Watching Goin' Hollywood with Marion Davies and Bing Crosby, who is so made up that he looks like a waxwork. She's lovely.

Topic of the day:

How about a Kritzerland show based on the music of Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil?

Okay, that's all the composers I can think of. This was difficult, not having a list of all previous shows in front of me. But it was surprising how many references to old Kritzerland shows I could find on the Net, so that helped. I'm sure Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer has been done, but that was the one show I couldn't find any references to.

Remember, Dan M. does not have a dedicated Internet connection. He's dependent on free wi-fi so that could be why he hasn't been on. I know Internet is spotty at the place where he lives. Even if you send him an e-mail or a PM if he can't log on, he can't see the message.

Also, no Bruce/Kritzerland doesn't sell downloads. I remember Bruce saying that's not happening right now. He wants to sell physical CDs.

Topic of the day:

The last theme I can think of is songs with either months of the year or days of the week in the title. Songs such as "June is Busting Out All Over" or "Leave Me on a Sunday Please".

We don't sell downloads on the Kritzerland site, but any Kritzerland CD that we have all rights to is available for download on iTunes, CD Baby and amazon, or at least they should be.

Jane, the woman who removed the post also contacted me via PM and was really so odd.  I told her that in addition to being gluten-free she seemed to be humor-free and that you, the person whose Facebook page it was, knew my sense of humor better than anyone, having been exposed to it since you were fifteen.  That kind of shut her up and then she made a stab at an apology and then I made nice with her.

These lists are always fun and ridiculous at the same time. There's also a link to Musto's list of the worst movie musicals ever:

Thanks for the reminder about the spotty wi-fi.  I figured a PM would be a long shot.

Was that Elisa since you mentioned her by name?  If so she is from the Portland area and was asking a sincere question.  She was also on the way to her mother's unveiling.   She might have been asking for her daughter who has a serious rare genetic disease.  She really isn't humor-free, just having a rough time.

LOL Did you notice Ericka trying to defend me from the health nut?  It was sweet of her :)  If I ever reduce my number of friends he will be on the list, not because he is a health nut-I get that he is correct and I shouldn't eat that crap-but he annoys me in general-lol

From Bruce:
Quote
Gee, I hope Jane comes here and posts her pastry photographs, too - would be a crying shame to only share them on Facebook where they are not seen by nearly as many as here.  Also, one of her friends posted about the pastry and from whence it came: Do they make gluten-free?  What is this with gluten-free?  Just another irritating fad that will be forgotten in six months to a year.  I do understand that for some it is a real thing, but the other 90% who've jumped on that bandwagon are doing it just because it's a fad.  You mark my words when the gluten-free business is gone a year from now.  The best part is when these faddists say "Oh, I feel so much better eating gluten-free."  Sure you do.  Until the next craze.  Like people who used to do Atkins - "I feel so much better doing Atkins."  Sure you do.  I'm here to tell you as someone who was stupid enough to try Atkins, I felt soooo much worse.

You forgot we can't post photos here from Keith's phone.  FB handles a larger size and won't accept them.  You should have transferred it.

Funny is the person who asked apparently removed her question and all that is left is your rant about gluten ;D

Annoying is the person who got upset I ate such unhealthy crap and would not shut up about it.  I've seen other posts on FB get hijacked but this is a first for me.  I didn't dare mention the incredible cannoli I had for dessert that night :)

I almost wrote something about that.  I really do not like when people do that on other people's pages.  Write whatever you want on YOUR OWN PAGE. But don't post stuff like that on other people's pages.

DR Jennifer do you have a bell on your bike?  Our bike path is also for walkers, though the bikers seem to think it belongs to them.  I find it helpful when they ring, even better than calling out, as they approach.

No, maybe I should get one. The path at the lake is also for walkers. But this was just a bike path on the side of the street. If it had been a child walking on the sidewalk I would have put my hands around my brakes. But I did not think that an adult would jump in front of me without looking.

This morning I received a call from the car salesman, asking if I'd made a decision on the BMW. I told him I wouldn't be buying it. He then said, "If I see another A3 [the Audi I was interested in] should I call you?" Yes. I couldn't resist. I then added, "It's such a shame about the Audi. It would have been the purrrrrfect car for me." I doubt that this salesman has anything to do with whatever bait-and-switch may (or may not) be going on, but I had to get a little dig in. If the car isn't available they ought to take it off their website.

You should have asked why it was still there.

I prefer to buy physical CDs, but Andy's site will be a great place to browse.  I rely on GRAMOPHONE, FANFARE, and AMERICAN RECORD GUIDE for my new classical options.

Did you watch Food Network Star last night? Luca apparently did well in the voting. But I didn't see the episode.

And I am home from Dr Vong's office. I go back on July 2. He had no answers, just continue the physical therapy and tell my dermatologist next week about several issues he has.

I need a job.

No answers?  That just doesn't seem right.  I am so sorry, elmore.

There are days, my dear friend, I feel we are in either the same boat or the same shipping line. I hope it's not the TITANIC or LUSITANIA.

Hopefully the Andrea Doria.  A much better chance of survival.

Just finished watching a TV version of The Chocolate Soldier that Rise Stevens and Eddie Albert starred in.The credits at the end said additional lyrics by Carolyn Leigh. Now that could be a great show: Witchcraft, Firefly, When in Rome, Be a Performer, Real Live Girl. Great songs.
