the cake was really good and everyone loved the story that went with it..

Rigo Jancsi was a famous Hungarian gypsy violinist. In 1896 while in Paris, Jancsi played for Prince Josef and Princess Klara. Fascinated by his swarthy good looks, she fell in love. Klara left her husband and children to follow Jancsi who divorced his wife. The affair didn't last but the cake Rigo created with a confectioner in Klara's honor did - Sutemeny Rigo Jancsi. It remains a favorite Hungarian sweet.

I would recite the above and then end  it with " This is a typical Hungarian love story, two ruined marriages, a disastrous illicit love affair,  but all ends happily with rum and chocolate"

I got up at 7:30 and went to the grocery store to pick up a few last minute things  then came home and cut up 8lbs  of meat into inch  cubes... (about half the size I normally would  at home  but since everyone  would be grazing  across 16  tables I wanted to keep the portions small)   I made a marinade of dry red wine, minced garlic and beef broth and then popped it back in the  fridge

I made breakfast for Vixdad then headed out to the restaurant supply place to pick up two new jelly roll pans and cooling racks then off to church

My kitchen is not conducive to big cooking projects  and the Pastor very kindly allowed  me use of the church kitchen...

I ended up being there from  11 AM  until 10 tonight  I am bushed!

The Vixter is still there.  As the church Sexton she has the unenviable task  of being sure everything is presentable for   Pentacost service tomorrow

Thank you to those who commneted on my tribute to Clark.  I just thought it was important that people know a little bit about Clark.  He was a wonderful man.

It was a wonderful tribute.

Thanks, John.

Had an amazing Ruth's Chris dinner - New York steak in sizzling butter, a little lobster mac-and-cheese, a little lyonnaise potatoes and a salad, topped off with a few bites of some chocolate exploding thing.  I actually wasn't that full when it was going down, but as soon as I got up from the table I thought I was going to explode like the chocolate exploding thing.

I've been home almost all day.  Yesterday, I got a text from Shelly, the property manager of my condo complex, asking if anyone would be willing to help with getting the pool ready for opening.  I said that I could help put together the tables that she also asked about.  She bought lunch and we put them together.  The instructions were fairly easy to understand, but it took the two of us.

I came home afterward (about 3:00 pm) and was going to read, but I fell asleep until about 8:00 pm.

Tomorrow, I have to work concessions, but I have to be there by 11:00 am and my shift is scheduled to end by 3:00 or so, so I'll definitely be back in time for THE TONY AWARDS!! :D

Last night was a good performance.  We are selling lots of tickets.  It will probably be my best Box Office performing show in a few seasons.  I have been doing plays, so I don't know how to act with an almost FULL HOUSE.

Great new, Jack!  Hope it continues for you!

A local PBS station was showing a "Red Dwarf" marathon tonight and in one of the earlier episodes, Craig Ferguson was a guest.  Who new?

Excuse me, it's now "The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess!"

I guess that's so you know it's not Sigmund Romberg's "Porgy and Bess."  Or Bock and Harnick's.

Or "DuBose Heyword's Porgy and Bess".

;)

Want to read a brief but fun bit of writing? I enjoyed this hilarious review of Nicole Kidman's latest turkey Grace Kelly bio-pic:

That was a good one...review, that is.
