DR ChasSmith, we often use the air conditioning as much for the humidity as the heat.

Oh, definitely.

Inconsequential weekend, I'm happy to report.  The only out-and-about I did was to drive to KFC yesterday afternoon for a bucket (8 pcs) of chicken with macaroni and green bean sides.

Leftovers in my lunch bag today!!!!

I watched Twilight Time's "Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison" yesterday.

Wonderful, wonderful.

I am back on the 6th floor.  My desk is in disarray, naturally, but the important things have been done:  I have a functional desk fan and my Keurig single-serve coffee maker is plugged in.

Will his wife do a lend-lease treaty with TCB, do you suppose?

Hard to say, DR Jrand63, but probably "If," from Two on the Aisle.

DR Laura I think finding owls will be more difficult.  Good luck!!!

On night we were at the outdoor theater when I noticed an owl sitting at the top left of the theater.  I kind of lost track of the play watching the owl :)

Today will be a day.  Yesterday was Father's Day and today is my mother's birthday!  My sister and I got her a meat grinder attachment for her KitchenAid mixer (it's what she specifically wanted) and we're all going out to dinner at a local restaurant called Falls Terrace, which overlooks the Tumwater falls.  I haven't been there in a while, but they always have good food...if a bit pricy...for me. ;)

The falls are pretty.  Have a nice dinner and Happy Birthday to your mother who was born on my mother's birthday.

Monday morning greetings!  We've closed up the house and turned on the air conditioning because it's supposed to be hot and humid all week  :P

What I thought was going to be an at-home day will now be interrupted by my 2pm appointment with our family doctor to have him remove a wood splinter from my finger.  I got it Saturday during some drawer cleaning and rearranging and cannot get it out myself.  One of our Lima parishioners, who does a lot of woodworking, offered to remove it for me yesterday at church, but I was chicken.

Silly, you should have let him do it.

I was feeling melancholy, too, yesterday...until my son posted an wonderful sentiment on Facebook, which totally made my day.

That was nice.

I'm looking forward to watching the final episode of FARGO tomorrow.

This 10-episode series has been one of the best shows I've ever seen on television.

LOL I am so glad it will be over.  I know, it is excellent I just don't enjoy watching it.

Laura, I envy you seeing the bats. I need to go to Austin and do that one night this summer.

We have little owls out here called burrowing owls. They are diurnal, and if one knows where to look, one can find them. I know where to look. Life bird today for Wae-Ling!

John G., the bats in Austin is a bucket list item for me.

Cool DR Laura.

I wish we could have gone to the Carlsbad Caverns when the bats were flying.  We could have seen this...

No sign of the super today, and I've been to his usual haunts. I think he's hiding out in one of the other buildings on the block.

Have devoured my lunch.   Sadly, one of the project managers came in from the field and used my entire lunch period to go door to door and talk loudly with others about what she's been doing (nobody ever cares 'cause they have their own projects, but that doesn't stop her).

The one time I really saw the bats in Austin was from a boat in the middle of the lake fairly near the bridge under which they spend the day. So, they swooped out over us at dusk. A treasured moment.

So, when you come to Austin, and you should come to Austin, get yourself on a boat.
