We have potential tornado warnings tonight, but I'd love to go a few blocks for a free open rehearsal of one of my favorite local choral groups.

They are trying out their program before they travel to the Ravinia Festival.

The cats and I are in the basement in a tornado warning.  The storm with the double tornados in Nebraska is headed our way

Stop, Drop, and Roll, DR Cillaliz!

Or is it Duck and Cover.

Maybe neither...but stay in the basement!

DR JRand, I also enjoyed the family photo! Nice group of people...I don't think I realized you had so many siblings!

I had a rather fast and furious weekend. Got a lot of things done, watched some movies and enjoyed myself. I, however, did not get on the internet much, so I have some HHW catching up to do.

Are you going?  I presume there is a basement, something I suggest confirming prior to going.

I agree with both points. Very nice family photo. But I had no idea that you had so many siblings either.

I had a date on Sunday with a very nice guy named Gus (short for Augustin). He originates from Mexico, but has lived in the US for about 10 years. He studied medicine in Mexico but instead ended up becoming a welder here.

I told him that I have no interest in romantic entanglements at this time in my life, but he insisted. So I went and I had a good time. He is a nice guy, and I am sure we'll see each other now and then. And, I liked that his name is Gus. You don't meet many people named Gus anymore.

I know.  I personally think it is a bit silly when they wear a cap and gown.  It isn't as if they did anything to "deserve" wearing them.

Has anyone read CLOUD ATLAS?  I just checked it out from the library.  It is a long book but I need something to read while I wait for 3 others to come in.

I enjoyed that, DR John G!  Thanks.  I'd never heard that song before.

Well, I must be off.  The family is going out to dinner for my mom's 72nd birthday!  We'll probably go to my sister's for dessert.  Have a good rest of the evening, all!

We're ok.  If you've seen the amazing video of the two tornados side by side.  It's real.  That's the storm that was headed our way but it dissipated before it got here.   The storm demolished Pilger, NE.   My home town got hit with winds of 89 MPH heavy rain and hail.  My brother said he's never seen it so bad.

I am back on the 6th floor.  My desk is in disarray, naturally, but the important things have been done:  I have a functional desk fan and my Keurig single-serve coffee maker is plugged in.

Welcome home.

We didn't think about tornadoes when we moved to Michigan & it was a surprise when the school had a tornado drill on the boys first day.  Craig especially was not happy.  Over the years we had a number of warning and high winds.  I only remember a couple of bad ones, the worst being the day all the schools had to keep the children there after hours.
