bk, given the kerfuffle with the "Hands on a Hardbody" director, are you worried about future productions of your "Abner" and your changes to the libretto?

No, because the changes are all for the good, and were all made by the writers involved for the film version (I didn't move songs around from act to act or anything like that, and did less than most revivals do these days - I just did it right), and I would clear them before any major production.

What a neat place, DR Jane - thanks for sharing the photo!

Thanks.  The bandstand, shown in the article, is of historical interest.  It is just a big grassy area for people to sit and enjoy the band on summer evenings.  It is not an attractive area.  We find it mind boggling a story on the most beautiful parks would decide to use such an unattractive spot when the park is filled with beautiful photogenic locations.

Interior detail from NYC's original Metropolitan Opera House:

If the metropolitan opera closes then Disney will take it over and put one of their shows in it. :-(

It was torn down over 50 years ago.

Quelle embarrassing. I thought it was the current one. I've never been to an opera in NYC .

Oh, DR Jane - I meant the place with all the beer bottles.

But the park is nice, too.

Page four?  Really?  I should think we'd best get us a frenzy or twelve going on and sooner than later or some folks will be REBUKED with both CRANBERRIES and UNDERPANTS.

I have a question about posting

When someone deletes a post does the software make it say

"Post Deleted"

or are you just posting "Post Deleted" and if you are why?

So deleting a post doesn't lower the posting count

Maybe "Post deleted" is one of those HHW-trademarked catchphrases like "Underpants" and "Will we never get to page 3?"

That too

Today was our church's day to host the local soup kitchen.  We served baked zit and meatballs and salad and rolls with butter and assorted cakes

we had  60 people  there including 15 kids.

We had enough food to feed every one and then there were seconds for those that wanted  it and we gave out about 40 take out boxes  so in all we served about 120 meals

Vixmom does your phone automatically back up to the cloud?  I have Verizon and it backs up so when you lose everything you can go online and replace it.

I am very tired and must get some rest.  I'm going to a Second birthday party for Samantha's son, Dash.  He is his name dashing here and dashing there.  Both my brother and sister in law are sick, so mom and dad and I will be the extended family contingent.  It's about an hour and a half drive to Sam and Don's house, but it will be worth it the boys are very cute.  I'll take a photo or two

I went to a Sioux City Explorer's game tonight.  We were tied in the 8th and the ump didn't seem to think anything was a strike. So our manager went out and got in his face when the tie breaking run was a walk from loaded bases.  They were literally inches away from each other and he was doing some serious yelling. It was amusing, but I'd hate to have been the ump.  The ump didn't seem to mind, however, so maybe it was all show.
