I saw Dame Edna in San Francisco several years back. She was assessing the "look" of the audience and said, "I'm really shocked at how you've all dressed for the theater. I feel like you're not quite out of bed yet." She then put her hand over her eyes and looked up to the Loge and Balcony and said, "If you're dressed like this in the expensive seats who knows what 'they' must be wearing up there."

Minnesota is apparently going to have a summertime polar vortex early next week. Overnights will be in the 40s; daytime highs will be around 60. Who knew?

The only version of GREASE I ever saw, which was performed here in L.A. at what used to be called the Wilshire Theatre near my house, was a faithful rendering of the original concept musical. Do you folks have an opinion about this? I can appreciate both sides, but I'd rather see the original musical; if I wanted to see the movie, I'd watch the movie. Would audiences revolt if they didn't hear what is basically a Bee Gees song in "Grease"?
