IIRC, Kym Karath played DoDo's daughter in "The Thrill of it All".  She was a couple of years younger in that one than she was in "The Sound of Music".

Thursday morning greetings!  I woke up earlier than I'd have liked and can't quite seem to get myself in gear.

Vibes for DR Cillaliz!  Upheaval and uncertainty can be very stressful, so take care.

DR CILLA LIZ what that means for a person with Scorpio rising is that you are doing exactly the right thing at exactly the right time!

Expect what you are asking for, and live in accordance with your actions.

My last suggestion - find a photo of a woman in a judge's robe, paste your picture over her face - and put it where you can see it every day.

Just when I've got a bit of money in the bank, that damned property in Ohio needs a tax payment and out it all goes. I have to thank my two brothers for letting their greed and counting their chickens in advance for this mess.

Good morning, all! I slept a very long time, and I'm up and moving and pondering what will occupy my day. I think i may drag out the ladder and redo a shelf of books in my work space. On my way back from market, I saw the super who will be up later to examine the oven's pilot light, so I've got two events to consider over my coffee.

DR Cillaliz, will we have to call you "Yer onner?" I wish you great success with the application.

LOL,  No, you can still call me cilla. It's funny, I was so excited and up and positive about the possibilities for me and the time line of finding out in a month or two whether I got it,that I sort of feel like I got gut punched when Edith said she had a new job less than 24 hours afer I told her.   I know she says she'll stay on part time, but I don't think that will last.  After working together for 6 1/2 years,  I feel like I just lost my best friend. I really didn't expect her to give me notice before I even completed the application.  I guess I knew she was looking for something more in her career.  I'm happy for her, but it's still a blow.  I'm glad it happened now, so I can get over it before I file my application and have an interview.

Look at it this way, Cillaliz: Without her employment with you on her resume, it's doubtful that she would have gotten hired so quickly. You had a part in that.

Three apocryphal Doris Day stories:

Charles Herbert says that Day never spoke to the three boys playing her sons in PLEASE DON'T EAT THE DAISIES unless the cameras were rolling....she had no interaction with them on the set.

Doris would not come out of her dressing room during THAT TOUCH OF MINK because she and Cary Grant both wanted to sit screen left in a taxi cab scene.  After a couple of hours of high level meetings, Grant said it didn't matter to him....and took the screen right seat.

After Doris finished recording a song called OO-EE BABY....she took off her headphones said "Call me when they starting writing songs again...." and walked out of the studio.

I don't know of a Doris Day movie or song I don't like......

Well, give this one a shot!

I don't mean it in a good way. I think it's a real stinker!!!

I love Doris but did Marty Melcher force her to make this thing?

We watched till the end only because we couldn't believe how bad it was.

Tunnel of Love

It's based on a rather successful Broadway play of the same name, starring Tom Ewell (in the Richard Widmark role), Nancy Olson (in the Doris Day role) and Darrin McGavin (in the Gig Young role). It's the same basic plot. Elizabeth Wilson and Elizabeth Fraser were both in the Bway production and they repeated their roles in the movie. I've taken the play out of the library to read just to see if it's as bad as the movie.

NBC News reports that a study has revealed that New York City is the unhappiest city in the United States:

"People living in the Big Apple are in rotten moods more often than people in other cities, according to a new study.

"New York City was ranked the least happy city in America when adjusted for income, according to a working study, titled “Unhappy Cities,” released by the National Bureau of Economic Research.

"The study leaned on a questionnaire that has been administered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the last several years and asks respondents: “In general, how satisfied are you with your life?”

DR Cilla, wow and....

MEGA VIBES WE WILL SOON BE CALLING YOU JUDGE CILLA!!

With Edith moving on so quickly you will simply have to get the position.  I suspect she was trying to make a decision and your announcement was what she needed to make the jump.

Good vibes while you adjust to the changes!

I felt the punch for you when I read the news.  When will she switch to part time & will that be enough?  Will you need to hire a temp while you wait to hear if you are a judge or not?  It certainly complicates things.

DR BEN you are correct about TUNNEL OF LOVE....although I really like Doris singing the title tune.  It is awful.....I have tried to put it out of my mind.  I've seen it about one and one half times.....
