DR Vixmom I would not want to live in your neighborhood.  Not that I like noise at 7:30 in the morning, on a weekday, it is the time I consider acceptable.  Keith said 8:00.  I like noise to stop by 9:30 at night.

Gosh I like living in the country.  It will be difficult to adapt when we move.

When are you going to move?

TOD:

I don't drink often, so my knowledge of liquor is limited. I do not care for beer or wine. If I am going to drink I usually tend towards a simple Scotch/Bourbon on the rocks. I have tried a number of martinis, but find I don't really like them all that much...however, I always had vodka martinis. Recently I had one made with gin and enjoyed it much better.

I have had some colorful, fruity drinks that I liked, but I could not tell you what was in them/. I just know they tasted really, really yummy!

Back in my youth, when I would go out to special interest nightclubs and/or partying with co-workers, a Long Island Ice Tea was my drink of choice...mainly because it got me drunk good and fast! LOL! Now, I don't like even getting tipsy.

Didn't I see you drink a Cosmo in Portland?

Here is today's Throwback Thursday photo.  I'm on the right, chatting with James Roosevelt, Eleanor and Franklin's eldest son, and my friends Stefanie and Jenny:

I think that was really rude of him to sign his name on your wall!

T.O.D.

I think everyone here knows (or should know) that I don't drink anymore.  I am an alcoholic, and next month (September 14), God willing, I will be sober for twenty-one years.  Prior to that, I drank anything and everything.  The funny thing is I never really found any drink that I liked.  I suppose I drank wine more than anything, but not when I went out, because the serving size was too small.  Better to drink wine at home where I could use a big tumbler.

This Prokofiev guy is the bomb.  I'd forgotten how much I love his music - every single piece I've heard today, and that's four symphonies and some suites are aces.

I volunteer at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts as an usher and concessionaire.  Four or so years ago, there was a performer (I never found out who) whose rider contract required that O'Doul's be provided, but the darned performer never drank any of them...they just required that some be available.  Well, after the performer's performance, the Center's people put the aforementioned unconsumed O'Doul's in concessions to sell to patrons AND THEY NEVER SOLD!  Not a single one!  They were there until sometime last year when someone FINALLY decided to dump them ALL.

So, good for you, Vixmom, but evidently Olympia arts patrons need their beer buzz.
