Well, you've read the notes, the notes were smelly, and now it is time for you to post until the smelly cows come home.

TOD:

I think that Tennessee Williams must have been my first exposure to homosexuality in literature and films, with plays like CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF and SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER.  I directed productions of both of those in Seattle.

Good morning, all! I'm happy to hear that the tempest on Long Island yesterday did not prevent DR Ben's and Anthony's departure this morning.

I will shortly head down to Toyland and schlep home some books and programs or CDs. I will spend some of the weekend putting the CDs back to their original home and wrestling books and the ladder. I need about 18 more feet of bookcases.

Yesterday, I had meant to finish up a Moross project and take a serious look at the existing materials for the Rodgers & Hart show Chee-Chee, but the day got eaten up with more New World Records Roberta requests - a promo blurb, photo decisions, and a discussion of the unreleased  2001-2002 McGlinn recordings of Kern and Herbert and the foundation that funded them. So, my curiosity running, I contacted the foundation and had a short spurt of messaging with the person now on that project. Who knows?

DR vixmom, I am happy to know you are okay, but I'm very sorry you have to deal again with a flooded basement and roads.

I think that's my news. More from Toyland.

Yesterday was my parents' 59th wedding anniversary

we took a break from the basement bailing to go to dinner at the Miller's Ale House down the road as they have a steamed lobster special on Wednesday's  and that is my folks' favorite (the roads in my neck of the woods were clear by last night)

The meal was fun and good and then I came back to more basement cleaning

I have a question, Bruce.  You said,  "Scent of Mystery had the best lead up to an intermission ever."  What was the lead up to Intermission?

Thursday.

Last night's show was good....and the audience was good.  At this point, after four performances, my G/D show is leading LSOH in attendance by 70 people.  We shall see how we stand after Saturday's closing.

I think it would be cool if the video release supplied scratch and sniff cards as a bonus.

Very entertaining notes.  I like to play the SCENT OF MYSTERY cd released by Kritzerland Records, it is most enjoyable.

TOD:

Hmmmm......in literature, probably CATCHER IN THE RYE....in movies probably WILD IN THE STREETS or the previews for BOYS IN THE BAND, which I had already read about.

TOD

The first book I read without knowledge that it had it was the novel "The Man Who Folded Himself".

TV: Bewitched whenever Paul Lynde was on as Uncle Arthur. I wasn't exactly sure what it was back then, but I knew it was different.

Loved the notes today. I remember seeing "Polyester" in Odorama, in which we had scratch-and-sniff cards. You scratched the card whenever a number appeared on the screen. With it being a John Waters movie, some of the odors were less than pleasant.

TOD:

If I recall correctly, I would say the TV movie "That Certain Summer" was probably the first time I remember gay characters actually being gay, as opposed to the hinted-at, always swishy Franklin Pangborn types.

Favorite books would include "The Color Purple," "Maurice," "Death in Venice" and "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."

Greetings from Toyland!

The physical therapy problems are resolved and i have an appointment tomorrow morning. I was going to go up tmorrow to say goodbye to my beloved Morgan, whom I credit for keeping me going and now walking. On Sunday she and her husband relocate to Laredo, and, while i wish them much happiness and success, it tears outr my heart to lose her.

Good morning, all.

And a late one it is!  Got up around my usual time, fed some critters, and crawled right back into bed without so much as a how-de-do ..... and I'm two hours of sleep better for it.  I needed that.

And now:  Coffee and cheese danish!

Laredo? Not exactly the safest town on the planet. Safer than Nuevo Laredo, just across the border.

TOD:

TEA AND SYMPATHY, seen on afternoon television, might have been my first.  I think my mother clued me in a little bit.  At some point, no doubt some Tennessee Williams.
