For those of you interested in my continuing culinary adventures out here in L.A., today's lunch was Indian. Vegetarian Indian to be more precise. I checked out "Indian Sweets & Spices" in Los Feliz. DR Jay and I had come across the branch in Culver City last weekend, and this is their main branch. The branch in Culver City was basically a small grocery store with a hot food counter. The main branch in Los Feliz is quite a large store, with a separate restaurant/eating area. For a very reasonable $5.99 I had two curries, rice, a papad, a puri, a samosa, lime pickle, raita, rasmalai (dessert) and a mango lassi! Initially, it didn't really look like a lot of food on the platter, but it sure turned out to be. There was still some food left on the plate when I left. It was all pretty good for steam table food (lots of people, so the dishes are replenished frequently), but I'll probably try some of the a la carte, cooked-to-order items if I make it back there.
*Oh, and in the grocery store section, I noticed they carried a nice selection of English candies and chocolate bars! Cadbury, Galaxy, etc. Hmm....
