I love the animated movie, but I really didn't like the stage version of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.

The book was padded and the whole show reminded me of a circus act.

Monday.....

This week, I don't have much to do....SO I am not doing much.

Sad to read about that particular production of KISS ME KATE.  I like the show, have seen some good productions of it - and been in a couple....but this one sounds wrong from the go....

Musicals I don't like:

MY FAIR LADY
CAROUSEL
CATS
SEUSSICAL or however it's spelled
SHREK
THE LION KING - and all the other Disney cartoon based crap
1776

Shows I like that may not be so popular:

AIDA - Elton John, Tim Rice
PARADE

There are shows that I am sure will be posted here that I will add to my lists.

Hate:  Everything about THE WIZ.   And CATS, because it has no story.
Enjoyed, even though can never be as funny as the film, or actors, from which it was conceived:  SPAMALOT.

Once I get the fish slapping song in my brain -- it lingers for a few hours!  LOL

I slept very poorly, and I feel like garbage today. I do not know if I am getting sick or I'm really tired.

Take care of yourself!   A nap sounds mighty nice right now!  Sending good vibes your way!

I love Into The Woods. But don't really love that movie poster. I'd like to see one with more of the cast.  But I am looking forward to seeing the movie.

I thought I was the only one -- it's too creepy for me.  I never perceived the role as a Scary Witch.

I hear ya -- saw AIDA with Heather Headley and Adam Pascal three times.  Still got choked up at the ending, as I blubbered my way out the door!  Will always be an Elton John fan -- since the early 1970's!

And PARADE -- I missed seeing it with Brent Carver, but saw it many years later with T.R. Knight (from Grey's Anatomy) in Los Angeles.  When the show ended -- I'm like what??  I hated how you never knew if he was guilty or innocent!

I love CAROUSEL.  It's my favorite R&H musical.

A slow cooker and toaster oven with convection capabilities -- that's about all I need!  ;D

Much as I love the classic R&H musicals, I never again wish to sit through a bad amateur production of any of them.

I'll tell you exactly how Disney is trying to sell Into the Woods - like all these redos of the fairy tales they've been doing - like Maleficent and all the others.  The credits are in a font you cannot read, which is exactly what they want.

I saw those credits and almost spit my coffee.  I wonder if they'll take a newly conceived Oscar for the most squished modern movie credits of all time.

Well.....I must say that "THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X" is one of the funniest and cleverest musicals I have ever seen - but I adore the subject matter.....

They have those, DR BwayAnge, plus an electric hotpot for boiling water and a Sunbeam electric skillet that belonged to my grandmother (made in USA, still works).  I have a lead on a one-burner hotplate for them and they'll be all set.  For big projects, they use our kitchen downstairs.

Had a long telephonic conversation and must start writing something shortly.  And eat something, but it's prime lunch hour now, so can't really go anywhere until two unless I go to the Thai place.

Which Banned Book Are You?

Even when I change a couple of answers, I still get Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer - maybe I should read it...
