TOD:

It's hard to say because my take on the question -- What is the most disturbing film or films you've seen? -- seems to be different from the others here.

I'm not going to read the responses to these anymore.  I avoided Silence of the Lambs and could have done without any details-lol

DR ChasSmith just headed back to Connecticut. The first hour from 11:00-noon dealt with unloading and getting the two filing cabinets into my building. When we turned one on its side for easier hauling, a mechanism holding one side of one of the drawers fell apart. We spent about an hour then trying to reassemble the piece. It wasn't easy and we finally found a workable solution, and went to lunch. It was a lovely visit, and DR ChasSmith is great company, and I am extremely grateful for his generosity in time and friendship.

I will now put my apartment back in order and then soak in a hot bath.

Very nice!!!

Everything is put away, and my apartment is back to the messy disaster I recognize.  O have more to accomplish, but it's begun.

And I am back -- having successfully avoided, by the way, any bad traffic whatsoever in either direction.  The Upper West Side, at least as far south as 79th Street, was affected imperceptibly, if at all, by the goings on in Midtown.  I have no doubt it would have turned into a total hell if I'd tried going anywhere in that direction, but getting in and out of town as far as DR Elmore's place was effortless.

This morning there was something on the highway betwixt here and there that caused a ten-minute delay.  But that's all.

As for now, ladies and gentlemen ..... it's Miller time.

Back from some lunch - cup of chili and a ham and Swiss on rye.  Finally had the telephonic conversation and have been immersed in the Sandy booklet and packaging - liner notes and thank yous, band, and credits are now complete.

Good news about DR CHAS SMITH and DR ELMORE and the Saga of the Filing Cabinets.

The extra drawers will make a big difference, I am sure.

I enjoyed it enough that I'll watch it again.  I certainly had to check my brain at the door...I mean, if a plane has enough room to fly over an air strip with no other plane in the way, why can't it just land and be able to hook up the computer safely??  I think that I'll enjoy the overall concept.

Funny to check ones brain regarding a show about a genius ;)

Thanks for the reports.  I had read mixed reviews about wavered on recording it.  Then I figured I could always delete it.  We will give it a try.

From DR Jeanne-a long time ago:
Quote
There's a prequel, too--THE COFFEE TRADER. Also interesting, but I prefer the first.

I'm currently reading this and agree, but then I didn't expect it to be as good.  I'm glad to see you call this a prequel.  I was surprised to read it is not considered a prequel, not sure why.  I'm guessing Liss wanted it kept separate.

I keep telling Keith he is the one who should be reading books about the stock exchange and coffee, neither of which I'm overly interested in.  Sometimes I even gag at the smell of coffee-lol  Reading this makes me wish I liked the stuff.

I had a small incident on my bike today in the library parking lot.

I have been having small problems with my left knee and left wrist.  My knee does not hurt when i ride.  But only when I have to push off it to start (when i'm stopped).

So i have been trying not to stop unnecessarily. And when I do stop I'm trying to push off the curb (less pressure on my knee).

So I was going to the library (driving very slowly in the parking lot). A lady that had a wheelchair sign in her car was coming out of the wheel chair parking. This is right where the bike racks are.  I didn't want to stop because of my knee.  I should have gone around because she was quite close to the curb.

Anyhow my right pedal hit the curb.  So my left knee jammed. I managed to stay on the bike but the lady never even looked over.  I will take 50% of the blame because i should have stopped or gone all the way around when I saw that she was close the curb.  But geez if you are so out of that you don't even notice if someone practically hits your car then ...

I will ice my knee (which i have been doing anyways every day).

We have been on a roller coaster all day because we can't tell at this point if our Dear Dog is going to improve or decline and have to be put down.

I'm sorry, DR singsong!  What a horrible situation.

After all that dealing with filing cabinets and then helping my 74 year-old neighbor with the two that i gave him, every muscle aches. It's time for the hot bath.

I'm so sorry.  I hate that roller coaster.  Is DD Zach eating?  Does the vet know what is wrong?  There are internal specialist and you might have one in your area you can see tomorrow.  Often you need a reference from your vet, or your vet to make the appointment.
