Far more interesting than "Crank 2" is "The Mind of a Chef," the PBS series. I'm watching the season with Edward Lee, who was a contender on "Top Chef" before writing a great cookbook called "Smoke and Pickles."

Lee owns several restaurants in Louisville and he's coming to town this Friday for a cooking class that I'm going to. Should be fun.

And that's enough depressing news from me today.

Good night, all.

The "Nice Lady" is someone I met out hiking. She came to church with me one day and has been coming as often as she can. She convinced us to enter photos. Luckily, when Wae-Ling took a good photo, I renamed it with her name so I could keep track of which ones were hers.

I awoke at 12:30 and i cannot get back to sleep.

I had one encounter with Geoffrey Holder in 1973: Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. Carmen de Lavillade was performing and he came to see herand their son Leo.  Carmen was my date to a showing of the Pabst film Die Dreigroschenoper at Tanglewood.

I've known Marian Seldes for nearly 35 years. I hadn't seen her since I saw her backstage after the revival of Anouilh's Ring Round the Moon. I have a signed copy of her autobiography. Between 1981 and 1983, she would stop into Theatrebooks at 48th and Seventh to visit on matinee days of Deathtrap.  As soon as her character was dead, she'd run out the stagedoor in full makeup and shop until it was time for the curtain call.

And now, I'm off to rehearsal.  We open "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [revised]" on Thursday!  Tonight will be a complete run-through and hopefully all the sound cues will be finalized.  Pray for Rosemary's Baby.

 ;)

Well, we had a pretty good run-through (just over 2 hours with the intermission), but it needs to be tightened up...and the sound cues aren't finalized.  They're mostly done, but a few need to be swapped out.  They're just not right, yet.

BK, I hope you don't mind that I'm using a few tracks from your "Shakespeare on Broadway" CD.

Paul Revere, who sang with the Raiders, has died.

I remember when I was in middle school and they came to our school and performed.  I don't remember too much about it other than we all enjoyed it.

So has Marian Seldes.

I hadn't heard about her dying.  That's too bad. :(
