The Notes might possibly go up late tonight. He's having a post-show meal.

Good Evening!

Back from the show...

Good show tonight.  At least from a performance standpoint.

The audience, however... Hmmm...  Let's just say they were being "polite", and leave it at that for now.  -I'll let BK put their reaction - or non-reaction - in his own words in his own inimitable style.

And it's actually kind of cool outside now too.  Brrr... ;)

Hmmm... So if I take the 8:00 train up to NYC on October 6... Hmm...

Now that I've thought about it... I may be crazy enough to do it!  I need a New York City fix.  I haven't been up since Children of Eden rehearsals in March, and with my upcoming schedule, I probably won't be able to make it up again until February of 2005!  Hmm...

Jose, thanks for the clarification about burgers at Joe Allen's and the time between 4pm and 8pm. I knew that and was going to say it in the post but it slipped by.

Ollies is fun (it's in the heart of Times Square on 44th just west of Broadway) and at 5pm it shouldn't be too crowded. I don't know if they take reservations. I'll see what I can find out. I'm going to the Broadway Cares Street Fair tomorrow and part of it will be across from Ollie's so I'll drop in and see what they say.

Just remember that October 6 is a Wednesday, so you may have to deal with post-matinee diners.

Have a great time at the Flea Market, Ben!  I've always wanted to go up for it, but I always seem to be working when it happens.  -Just like I always seem to be working when "Broadway Bares" goes up.  At least they have videos of those. ;)

OH!  And if you really want to experience Times Square dining, there's always the world's largest TGIFriday's!

NOT!!!

Ugh!

*Oh, and I keep meaning to mention that the kitchen at Joe Allen will usually accomodate "special requests" from diners (make a certain dish vegetarian, no dairy, etc.).  Just all depends upon how busy the place is.  I guess that's what happens when you cater to actor-types. ;)

Oh, and my two other usual standbys...

Pietrasanta - Italian - although the seating can get quite "close" at times... And their sister restaurant...

Rachel's - Kind of bistro-ish, American.  If you can score a nice table in the back, it's a perfect place for a small gathering.  *And I always seem to end up eating next to Donna Murphy when I eat there.  ???

Just trying to keep those home fries burning... Hmmm... Home fries.. Hmmm...

-Burn, baby, burn...

-Must be that new number BK wrote...

Or it's most likely the caffeine and sugar buzz I'm on right now.

Ah, well...

Today, I went to a Seattle Storm women's basketball game with my niece (I know, I know...HHW is not really a sports fan's site ::)).  It was a good game, but they lost by three measly little points.  If the last shot by Sue Bird had gone in (at about two seconds till the end of the game) it would have tied the score and forced the game into overtime.  But the shot didn't go in and they lost.  Oh well, they're already in the playoffs. :) That's all that really matters now!  Go Storm!

So, Jose...or anyone else who might know, do they really "take it all off" (a Jerry Herman reference) or not?  Just curious. ::)  ;)

They do two shows.  One at 9:00 - I think - and one later at Midnight.  The Midnight show usually does have some extra exposure.  Or at least the "tease factor" is upped.  It's never gratuitous or in your face (hmmm... maybe that's the wrong phrase to use here).  There was one skit a few years ago involving strategically placed soap bubbles and shaving cream.  ;)
