TOD:

The Oriental House in Louisville, Ky. It's up the street from my folks and it was owned by different people 40 years ago. Back then, we never ate out, except on a rare occasion and it was almost always at the Oriental House. The food was better then, but it's OK now. My folks still eat there regularly. I'm sure I'll eat there at least once over Christmas, but no shark fin soup any more, the lobster sauce is no longer made from lobster shells, ...

So, AAUW Middletown is now leasing a retail space in Kitty Hawk Plaza for the 2015 used book sale.  Many of us will be very glad to get boxes of books out of our garages.

And, thanks to Facebook, we had a notary!

I will be interested to hear what is wrong with DR GEORGE's car.  My guess is thermostat.....

Hmm...I hadn't thought of that.  Of course, I know practically nothing about cars, so it's not surprising that I hadn't thought of that.

Well, I just got a call from the auto shop and they could find NOTHING wrong with my car!  They pressure tested the radiator and looked at all the belts and fluids and nothing seemed amiss.  So, it'll only be $49+tax, which is great, but what the heck happened when it all actually happened? ???

You didn't put oil in your car and you were lucky you didn't damage it.

Yes...well, the oil was low, but it certainly wasn't bone dry.  The dipstick registered at the low end of the range, but it still showed oil. :)

And where the smoke was coming from in my engine when I looked, didn't seem like something that the oil level really would've affected.

Where the heck is TCB...with all this uncertainty over "dipsticks" hanging in the air?

I've been watching the 2nd season of CHEYENNE.

What amuses me is how the studio was able to get away with using stock footage from old movies and obvious phony backdrops in these mid-1950s black-and-white shows when we all had TV sets that were 14-19 inches.

I have a 50" set now, and that that is definitely Joel McCrea riding across my screen...not Clint Walker.

At least the scenery changes.  In The Lone Ranger & Roy Rodgers they used the same rocks over & over again.

I was awakened by the door bell - the helper was here for the Costco run, so we did that, I got the motor car washed, then came home.

Doug Haverty really wants to include the lyrics to my songs in the Sandy booklet, so I'd already gotten him nine a few weeks ago, those I'd done for the guy who did the lead sheets.  So I had to do the remaining six, so that's what I've been doing.  So, now I must wait for dinner, which I wish were happening sooner.  Maybe I'll go get a cup of soup to tide me over.
