Thank you, Jeanne, for the car shopping web site recommendation. I haven't tried it yet, but I will. I'm looking for another Nissan Versa, but it's really difficult to find the SL trim level (with powers windows and locks, keyless remote, and cruise control). Almost all the used Versas out there are just the base model. OMG, does someone really expect me to crank down a window with my arm or open the door with an actual key?! ;-) However, I did finally find a 2011 Versa SL for a great price and it's at a dealership right near me, which is such a coincidence. Others I found were 50 miles away. So, I'm going to try to go look at it this afternoon.

DD Zach has been 100% healthy since his problem a few months ago. This morning we went to the vet for a simple blood draw. Upon arriving home, he promptly vomited on the ground carpet.          :P

I really think these events are mental - he doesn't react well to any kind of stress.

Good morning, all.

I desperately needed some extra sleep, but along with it came the most amazing bunch of crazy dreams ever, one after another, one sometimes combining with another, returns to earlier ones.  Insane.  I would swear that the entire two hours of sleep was consumed by the dreams.

Coffee.  Just:   Coffee.

DR vixmom, that is a horrible story about the road tragedy.  Talk about senseless.  The word itself sounds weak in the face of it.  What a horrible loss.

Good luck to Amy on getting the car you really want, and not just one you have to settle for.

We don't have to be "car people" to know what we're comfortable with.  Sometimes the "little" things do matter.

TOD:

I don't remember the details now, but about ten years ago I was forced to spend an evening talking with several different people -- both at a hotel in downtown Baltimore (which was right then in the process of changing hands, like, from Wyndham to Sheraton or something like that), and on both chains' corporate 800 lines.  In the course of their changeover, a reservation that I'd just thought to "check on" the night before had, sure enough, gone astray.  I don't think an outside entity like Expedia was involved, but it was surprisingly difficult nevertheless to get the problem fixed and the positive confirmation I wanted.  But it finally came together, and in the end, both the visit to Baltimore and the stay at the hotel turned out to be really great.

I am trying to do something which I thought would be simple. But I can't figure it out and thought that maybe a DR might know how to do this.

My sister put some pictures from her computer into my costco account so i could print them.  Now i would like to put some of those pictures on my usb.  But i cannot figure out how to do this.  I am thinking i will have to bring my usb to her computer (which i can do). But I thought i could just put them on from here. :(

Fingers crossed it will be warm enough on tuesday so that we will not have a snow storm. They keep adjusting the temps. If it is too cold we will have 10cms.  As of today they say it will be rain and high 40s.  I really do not want to see snow.

Good morning, all.

Many prayers and vibes of comfort, Vixmom, for the people involved in both stories you mentioned.

I keep thinking that I have finished the last details with Mom's cookbook when my sister Linda calls or emails with more questions. She and I are both exhausted and things that are right are starting to look like things that are wrong.

But today is the deadline and she mails it off today.

Time to leave Toyland. I hope the buses are not screwed up this morning.

And of course they were, since the City's doing nothing about traffic control and the MTA's doing nothing to make life easier for the taxpayers they rip off.

One weird thing that happened is that the publisher we're using has a program that changed all of the "its" to "it's." That's really irritating. And it requires more attention since we don't have the manuscript on a program, simply on proofs. So, it can't be searched to see if all have been caught.

Last night's barge dinner was fun, though some rain prevented us from doing all three courses on the boat. Dessert was in the restaurant.

Getting ready to go to the public memorial service of composer Stephen Paulus, who was famous especially for his choral music. He died a few weeks ago after suffering a stroke a bit over a year ago. Only in his mid-sixties - he still had a lot of good music in him that we sadly will never hear.

After that, a concert tonight. I am in a small choral group that is presenting a program of Renaissance music in three different locations (last night, tonight, and tomorrow afternoon).

thank you for your kind words  - I did not know the girl personally  although she lived near here   but I feel for the deep grief of my friends to whom she was a second daughter and mourn the senseless loss of a bright life about to graduate college in May
