Good Morning!

Well... I guess I'm not sleeping tonight... Hopefully, I'll get a few winks on the plane, but since I usually don't sleep on planes...-Even on the 14 hours flight to and from Australia last year, I really didn't sleep much.  However, strangely, I really didn't have any jet lag one way or another.  (Ah, a Blondie (Debbie Harry) reference!)

Unfortunately, part of my inability to sleep right now is that I've been going back through my luggage looking for something.  My checkbook!  AAAGGGHHH!  I have absolutely no idea where it could be, and I literally unpacked everything and search any possible hiding places, and found nothing.  Well, I found some stuff, but not the thing I was/am looking for.  I either accidentally threw it out with the junk mail garbage I sorted out this afternoon.  Or I left it at my cousin Angie's place - but I sort of noticed it missing there, so I looked while I was there.  Or I might have shipped it back in the boxes that I shipped home last week.  In any case, since it's a checkbook, any kind of "crime" will be easy to trace and to stop.  -Now I just need to figure out what number check was the last one I wrote.  I'm hoping it's just somewhere wedged between some papers or even some clothes in my luggage.  We shall see...

Good early morning all!

I’m so glad to hear that WHAT IF?  had such a nice send off!  There is always something bitter/sweet about the ending of a show.  Funny how a little group can become a “family” if only for a short time.

Well, the big news around here is Jeanne.  The track has changed and it looks like she is going to be coming right over US!

Bear woke me up because he was scared of the howling wind so I thought it a good thing to get up and have a look/see as to where she was at.  We are just starting to get the outer bands of the really strong stuff.  Obviously we still have power as I type this but that might change in the next few hours so don’t worry if you don’t hear from me.

We have a fairly big branch outside the kitchen door but I can’t really see it all that well.  I guess I’ll see what is what when the sun comes up.

I wanted to chime in on the chimes.  I think it would depend on if you can deal with the constant ting, ting, ting.  I would think that would be nice for the first five minutes and then it would have to come down.  I don’t think I could take it.

Mini Series—I have many favorites there.  V, The Stand, North and South Books One & Two, Pride and Prejudice to name a few.

Let me post this much before something happens to the power.

I know I missed being able to say it to you but "Safe Trip, Jose!"

Safe vibes to DRDanise (dressed for election day) - and all DR's in FLA!

DRJOSE is in the air as we speak!  He may be flying over my house!

So glad that WHAT IF was fun for MR BK - and that things worked out best of all in this best of all possible worlds - Westphalia.

Well how does one begin to meet an inventor with 100 boy toys in his BIG house up on Sunset Plaza Drive?  I guess one would have to look a certain way to begin with, so I suppose I am lucky to know the people I know here at HHW!

Sunday....chat....tonight....hurray!

Free for all day!

Well we started last night, why don't we see what unusual or interesting things we can find up for bid on Ebay today?  I will go look for something now, and then it will be YOUR turn...Yes - YOU!!

I'm going to work on a new outfit or a least a new picture soon.  I've just been to busy.

The power flickered there for a moment so I think we will lose it soon.

Oh DRDANISE - Halloween is coming up!  ;D

Well EBAY is full of stuff today....it was hard to choose something to start out with....but here it is:

For only 99 cents - from Karen Lustgarden, the First Lady of Disco...the COMPLETE book of Disco Dancing!  Get out those NikNik shirts and those LP Singles, folks!

And as Van McCoy would say:  Do the hustle!

Happy Landings, DR Jose, and thanks once again for making us part of the What If and LA experiences. (I had to skip your posts yesterday because I was fasting.)

I don't usually say this, but Skammen.

Archie and I went for a long walk through High Park. It's a splendid day and we met all sorts of canine friends.

But no new posts to come home to.

Not that I have much to report. Except that I broke the fast yesterday with a slice of honey cake - the untried recipe I posted for DR Emily. And, IMHO, it's a great cake.

Glad, bk, that you were happy with WHAT IF? and hope it has a life down the road, perhaps so some of us East Coasters could see it.

Funny about final shows, but rarely are they the equal to the next-to-closing show. I don't know why that is, but I always dread it when I know someone is going to record the last show of a run because I know the recording will be flawed, sometimes pretty severely.

[sigh] We're bracing for Hurricane Jeanne to sweep through the area late Monday and Tuesday. Though we more than  likely won't get the brunt of it, the spillover will be messy and a chore. Mowed my grass this morning since the yard will be soup for the next several days.

I will be watching the extras on the FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT DVD this afternoon, but then I'm not sure where my DVD watching will take me. It will certainly be a surprise even to me.  (If I have time, that is. I want to give part of the afternoon over to rehearsing music and lines in preparation for rehearsal tonight. Consequently, I can't be at chat this evening due to rehearsal.)

BK,

Congratulations on a successful run that brought so much pleasure. My What If Q:

How many people do you calculate saw What If?

Well, the funny thing is that even though we played seven weeks we only really did about twenty-eight performances (with previews).  So, I'd estimate that we had a couple of thousand people see it.

Good morning. Soon I'll be on my way to drop off some things in the Goodwill box, then off to the Farmers Market to score some fresh produce. Then a ton of work to catch up on.

Might I just ask where in tarnation IS everyone?

Today I shall do nothing whatsoever except watch DVDs, hang a few various and sundried pictures on various and sundried walls, perhaps take a dip in the pool (maybe onion dip - that would be good in the pool) and perhaps take a walk.  I think the food I ate last night is not agreeing with me.  I always like my food to agree with me - I like everyone and everything to agree with me.

Not sure where everyone else is, but I am here.

Watched two movies last night: the comedy Duplex with Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore, and Thirteen.  My sister just got the movie network. So she's been taping some movies from 2002/2003.  And I borrowed the tape.

JRand-great Collie story.
I only read the Betty Hutton interview-some interview.   It is amazing what they put up with performers these days and back then her incredible talent was left untapped.
And for your personal comment regarding my post   ;D, not that I get it.  But then, like Danise, I’m a bit naïve at times.  :D

Which movie did Betty Hutton and Fred Astaire do together?

She's flying home, Jane.

Ryan's song was about a young man who thinks he was born too late and wishes he could go back to his favorite era and be part of it.  That era?  Disco.  It turned out to be a really good number for him, and the choreography was tops, with all the disco moves you'd ever want.  The audience ate it up, really.   Maybe I'll print the lyric later.  I can say one thing - it gave Jose quite a workout on the keyboard.
