Framed thing is ready so I'll go gather it up in about fifteen minutes, do my banking, see if there are packages, and that will be that.

But I did get to find out that we won three Eddon Awards from Don Grigware's long list of excellence in theater for 2014.  For Unique Theatrical Event we're included for my production of Li'l Abner and also for the Kritzerland Jerry Herman show, and then in the Best CD category we're included for And the World Goes Round.

BK, Congrats on all of the awards!!

Today, I need to wrap a couple of DVDs for my dad...we exchanged names and I got his.  He's easy to shop for.  He loves getting a gift card from Barnes and Noble and anything to do with Tony Bennett.  I recorded the Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga concert from PBS and downloaded Tony Bennett's 85th Birthday Concert and put them both on DVDs for him.  Hopefully, it won't take me too long to get through B&N to get a gift card.

Our family does our gift exchange on Christmas eve, so that's what we'll do this afternoon.

To answer DR Jane question from yesterday.

I believe there is a direct flight to Jacksonville which would take an hour or so. (Orlando is slightly less)

Not too bad then to go to the mayo clinic with your knee hurting.

Patience is the key on your journey DR GEORGE.

I got to Fred Meyer to see if they sell B&N gift cards and they did!  AND just as I got there, I got a parking spot.  Score!  Waiting in line to pay took a little longer, but only about five minutes, so that wasn't too bad.  Leaving was pretty easy, too.  I'm now at my sister's, waiting for her to finish getting ready to go to our parents' house. ::)

Ginny, can your mother, in her new living arrangement, still leave the facility to attend family dinners or events?

She could, DR TCB, but it's quite an ordeal getting her into our house.  She's satisfied, for now, to stay there and have us visit her.  Richard and I will be there this evening, because in my family Christmas Eve was for present-opening and was as much a holiday as the 25th.  We're celebrating Sunday with Rob and Mary Linda and the plan is to take all 5 stockings to her place and do our traditional round-robin opening routine.

That sounds nice for all of you.

Actually, I wasn't really concerned about your mother this year.  I was more interested in knowing all the details in case I decide to move there.  Since you told me the place comes with your own bartender, I have been giving it some thought!   ;)

Vibes it can be fixed when your technician returns!!!
If you responded I missed it.  Do you need new lenses or an eye exam first?  I'm wondering if there isn't some way you can get new glasses at a discounted price.

This afternoon I had lunch with a college roommate whom I haven't seen in 30 years.

It was so fascinating - we remembered many things from very, very different perspectives.  It was good to see him and reminisce.

It is a great feeling to catch up with an old friend and still feel the connection you once had.

Picked up the framed thing, did banking, hung the framed thing, began cooking, kept on cooking, cleaned and organized and here it is just two hours before the Do.  IF I make the Wacky Noodles everything gets a bit complex but I guess I'll give it a go and see what happens.  Sauce is simmering away - I made a huge batch.  Again, I never have any idea who or how many will show up.  I'll make six pounds of pasta and hope for the best.  I have two pounds beyond that I could always make if we run out, but last year, when we had more people than we've ever had, we made it fine.

There is snow on the mountains with on and off flakes.  I hope our white Christmas stays in the mountains so we can enjoy it from afar.

Earlier today I picked up the one remaining gift and then delivered it. While I was out I stopped at my favorite food store and picked up few things. I was concerned that it'd be a madhouse, but it wasn't really any busier than the usual lunchtime crowd. In fact, I encountered LESS traffic than usual, except when I drove by the local Whole Foods Market, which WAS a madhouse.
