we are back to watching The West Wing  after watching a few episodes of The Tudors on BBC America

good as the series seems to be  I am surprised and confused by the casting and makeup choices - long after Henry VIII should have been fat and an invalid he is still young and thin and athletic  and "horse-faced" Anne of Cleves was portrayed  by a beautiful actress

I went to see Into the Woods and really loved it.  Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick and Meryl Streep were all fantastic.  I had never seen the show but knew several of the songs so that made it more enjoyable too.

elmore, when I click on Darrel's link and I enter his site it's a blank page.  Did he have this stuff on the site or just on castrec-l and if the latter can someone post it here or send it to me?

BK, I just clicked on the link and I got the home page. When i clicked on "Enter" I got a page divided into two sections: Site index and Keeping Score. Under Site Index are categories, lie "What's New?" "Musical Index." etc.  If you click on those, you'll find various things.  The info I think you want is noy there. It's on his yearly roundup he sends out on the Cast Recording List.

My wish for 2015 is the same as DR ELMORE's:

So, for 2015 I wish that all my friends prosper and thrive with good health and much happiness.

Ditto for All!!

Good morning and a very Happy New Year to all!

Pork ribs (country style so no bones) and Sauerkraut are in the slow cooker for my family traditional first meal of the year.  I'll make mashed potatoes and bread rolls as well.

I did modify the recipe somewhat--I cut and added a green apple, an onion, some brown sugar and a quarter cup of beer to the Sauerkraut.

Do you know how hard it is to find a single can of beer to buy?  I have to pour the rest of it down the drain since I won't drink it.  I don't mind cooking with wine and other spirits but I can't stand the taste by itself.  Yuck.

Anyway, we will give it a try and see what we get.

What is everyone else having for their First meal?

I just had a Schwans frozen Southwest Style Lime Chicken.  It's real good!  We have Schwans delivered to work, so that's where I get them.  It's my favorite.

My sister and I saw it today, too.  I loved it, too.  I did miss (a bit) what was cut, especially the "Agony" reprise, but what was there was very good. :)

And now, I'm off to my sister's for a bit, then to a pick-up rehearsal for "The HEAD! That Wouldn't DIE!"  We have two more performances, tomorrow and Saturday night, then it's OVER!  It was a lot of fun and made us some money!  THAT'S the best part!

;)

I've been a busy little beaver.  I began the new book, which should have been easier that it was but wasn't due to my senility.  As I mentioned, I'd written a rough up of the first two paragraphs.  But I'd done that twice, actually - once about three months ago, and then I redid it about three weeks ago.  Unfortunately I left the original pass of it and I mistakenly began with that and couldn't understand why I was having to fix almost every word of it.  When I finally got to what was paragraph three on the notes page, I realized THAT was the real paragraph one.  So, I nuked what I'd done, save for one good line, and then started again - this time the first two paragraphs were much easier and it flowed from there, albeit slowly.  But I kept at it and thus far I've written just under ten pages, which is as good a first day's writing in terms of page count as I've ever done, and I'm quite sure I'll do another couple of pages when I get home later because I left off in the middle of a thought.  So far, I'm having a really good time.

Now, do we have any Swedish speakers here?  I'd love to know what this guy is saying about the Sandy Bainum album - it's second up in his You Tube video.  Sandy sent it to me.  I hope he liked it :)

Since Billy Magnussen and Rapunzel rode off into the sunset, how could there be an "Agony" reprise?

I just had a wonderful dinner of pork chops, mashed potatoes, and sauerkraut.  I haven't cooked so much in years.

I have enough potatoes left to last me a month. They are quite yummy.

I typed up two more sets of edit notes today.  I've now edited nine numbers and prepared the notes for four.  I need a scanner and photocopier here in my apartment.

Although we may all be familiar with the musical we have not all yet had the opportunity to see the movie

I did not know that Rapunzel and her Prince road off into the sunset

I began the day with a potential plumbing disaster. Last night when I went to bed I could hear water running through the pipes in the bathroom wall. I was suspicious, but someone could have just been taking a shower. (It was midnight.) This morning I could still hear it. I took my shower, then called the manager. It turns out that the young couple who are so noisy weren't home, but their toilet kept running on. Not only does this run up the water bill quickly, but as you probably all know California is in a severe drought and wasting water is a real no-no. They'll probably blame me as i was the one who reported it, but it sounded to me like a burst pipe, which is a real emergency. They have not returned home yet.

My little drama to start the year.
