Well, you've read the notes, the notes were crowded, and now it is time for you to post until the crowded cows come home.

As are, conversely, busy and productive days.

There is now an "Instrumental Songs Version" of the Into the Woods soundtrack. It's all the tracks with the vocals removed. Interesting.

I guess there's a market for tweens who want to sing along, karaoke-style. It probably costs the studio very little to create this, but I do wonder how widely it will sell.

It could be an interesting listen for people who are interested in orchestration.

I like the concept brought up last night (in the conversation by George and TCB) of "fake spoilers"

Good morning, all.

A zero-degree morning.  Fortunately, the house is warm and toasty.  Warm is essential, of course.  But toasty is especially nice on a day like this.

Coffee, baby!   Oh yes.

Okay, I checked, and it's already up to 11.  Supposed to reach 30 today, which will be nice.  Nicer than what we've been having.

BK, I will take you up on the recommendation for THE ONE I LOVE.  I hadn't heard of it, but I do like Miss Moss, and if it's in the vein of Kaufman/Jonze films, that's fine, too, because those have grown on me.

Good morning, all!  It's a so=so day.  All my plans went to hell around 4:30am when I decided that the jabbing pains in my left heel needed more pain meds to put me back to sleep.  Well, it took over an hour before the meds started working, so when the alarm rang at 6:00am, i was just getting back to sleep and, when i finally decided at 8 to get out of bed, I was feeling too drugged to accomplish much.  As a result, I am not going to Toyland today, and all my plans are shot to hell.

I need to make the pharmacy trip whatever else occurs, so I'll do that now and maybe stop at the market.

It is only for reading then?   My original Nook had a library app.  Does this also mean you can't buy books directly from your Kindle & have to do so using your computer?

Regular kindles (not a kindle fire) are only for reading.  Although my kindle keyboard does have very limited access to email. But since it is old i don't use it for that anymore.  I rarely do it. But if i turn on the wifi there is the kindle store. So i can buy e-books right from my kindle. Although their default is "buy" so i hate going to the page because it is very easy to 1-click.

If your library has OverDrive, then Kindle versions of the books should be an option.  I don't know if your library can choose to NOT allow Kindle editions if they're available, but a lot of the e-books through OverDrive have both epub and Kindle download options...but not all.

I'm not really sure but I know that it says: Note: Kindle Books are currently available for US libraries only.

Chapters (the main book store in Canada) sells kobo. So Canadian libraries only make their e-books for them.

re: the library books. I would of course like to be able to borrow e-books from my library. But my library gets so many hardcovers and I do get a lot of e-books (either for review or loaned from friends). So i don't really mind.

Was anybody here a fan of the Veronica Mars series and movie?

They have made 2 books that are quite faithful to the series/movie. I am currently reading the second one.  It is odd to be able to picture a character while reading. The way they have Veronica speak in the books is the exact same snarky way that Kristen Bell spoke on tv.

Good morning. I went on a long hike yesterday. Well, long for me. Five hours, only stopping to cram myself into a rock crevice to escape the rain for about a half hour.

TOD: I am still watching the Peter Pan that George sent me. (Thanks, George! I am hoping to find a nice key chain when I am out on one of my adventures.)

I think it was a great idea to perform Peter Pan Live. But I think it was badly cast.

Who would you have cast if you were in charge?

And here's an Ask BK:

Have you been back to the Hamburger Hamlet recently?

I hope they are doing well.  Just found a web page that looks good but seems to be a work in progress, at least on this iPad.

Wednesday morning afternoon greetings!  I slept until 9am, which is very late for me.  Richard and I had a nice French toast breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen, and I've toasted some cocoanut for the cookies I'm making for tomorrow's book group meeting at Katie's.

Sorry to be E & T last night, BK.  We got home from Dayton with our deli food and after dinner I got involved in NCIS and knitting, then a PBS program about Vladimir Putin.  That was interesting to me because our topic last week in AAUW's current events series was Russia.

Books: A Kiss Before Dying would probably be number one on my list.  The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.

Movies: Witness for the Prosecution

Plays: None
