I need to return to cleaning cabinets.  While doing so, since Bruce is always asking if anyone still wears hats, I counted mine.  I have 41 hats.

Is everyone, in the path of the storm, prepared?

Got bread?  Got milk?

Stay safe, everyone!

One day I went into the bank to get cash for a trip to NY--$100, I think. I happened to mention to the teller that I was going to NY. He immediately replied, "Oh, you'll need more than that!" But my hotel and train had been paid in advance by credit card and I use credit cards for most things anyway. I really only needed cash for cabs. I found it amusing that he thought I was taking only $100 for all my expenses.

My next travel book - "L.A. to NY and Back on $100 Cash" (subtitle:  but be prepared to use lots and lots of credit)

Yes, a gifted man indeed, and he has a wife the stories about whom could rival the wife of elmore's brother!

And now, I must be off.  I'm going to my sister's before I go to the party celebrating the HR Manager's firing!

Have a good rest of the day, all!

Thanks.  This is a very clever marketing idea.  I personally do not like to begin a book and not be able to finish it ;)

I normally don't like samples. But in this case I like it. You can read the summary and then start it to have a better idea if it something you'd like to read.

I've spent too much time today obsessing over those lost LaCie files.  It's inhibiting my work.

DR Ben and Anthony suggested that maybe Tekserve can help me retrieve the files and I will call them tomorrow when I get home from therapy. I should be home before the storm lands, but I hope it's cold.  I am sick of sweating my butt off in this overheated apartment. I shouldn't have to go out again before Thursday.

It does look like a good site, and maybe one to go to in the future.

Cilla, I found your teller experiences interesting. Although I chat with lots of people I don't really know, I don't think it would have ever occurred to me to try to discuss anything at any length with a bank teller. Aren't there other customers waiting?

When I lived in Alexandria, VA I banked at Burke & Herbert Bank in Old Town. (DR Kevin will probably know it.) Oldest bank in Virginia, founded in 1852. Had never been bought out, still privately owned. The president used to have a parrot who sat on his shoulder--yes, in his office.  I'd always run into people I knew there. Plus, one of the VPs was a very friendly guy and we'd always say hello. I admit it was fun going to that bank.

Honestly we had a number of customers who were lonely.  Usually older individuals who just wanted someone to talk to. Sometimes there would be people waiting, but they'd often wait at the end of the line or they had a favorite teller and would wait to talk to them.   It was a small town so the line wasn't really much of an issue.

Another day in the 60's for the Northwest!

It is nice here too.

Another warm day her in SC.  They got a little snow not far from here, but it all melted.  No blizzard for us

Jane, I'm glad you found your ring.

Thank you.  It was a great sense of relief.  My finger felt very bare while we were out last night.  We were invited to someone's house we talk to at the gym and it was the first time meeting his wife.  I had a nice time but I had to not think about my ring.

I'm glad you found it too

Well.....American Sniper.....same kind of war movie.....different kind of war....

It's not bad in the way The Green Berets movie was about Vietnam....it seems to give a good idea about what it's like right now over there....

Grim.....Bradley Cooper certainly gives an Oscar worthy performance.....but I can understand why it can be a polarizing movie....just as it's a polarizing war.....

Thanks for the movie report.  I don't know if we will see it, just because and not due to the protests.
