Thankfully, I've been able to avoid extreme bad weather.

When I was about eight or nine in Seattle, there were a couple of snowstorms that forced the schools to close for 2 days. But, that didn't bother us kids. We spent the days sledding down the hill in front of our house.

Then, there was the major lightning storm that Steve Kanaly and I flew through on our way back from Chicago to Los Angeles. But, that's about it.

I don't know what's happening with our mostly 5-6 year old appliances in our house.

About a year ago, the microwave died. Just before Christmas, out big screen television, which was about 12 years old, passed away.

Two or three weeks ago, we had a major repair on the washing machine.

And yesterday, the condenser on our refrigerator went out.

Good morning, all! The alarm rang an hour and a half ago, but I slept in. It was too quiet outside to not sleep in.

As to the storm, we got a Big 5.5 or so inches of snow. The news is apologizing this morning.

I know some areas were badly hit, but the City was not.
