Well, you've read the notes, the notes were nothing and short of heaven, and now it is time for you to post until the heavenly short cows come home.

TOD:
I remember watching the television broadcast of Leontyne Price's final performance as "Aida" at the Metropolitan Opera. The ovation after her last act aria, "O Patria Mia," seemed to go on forever. I'm sure it was just a few minutes, but it seemed like forever.

Glad to hear that you had a great evening, bk, and that the various performances went so well.

TOD:

Patti LuPone after the title number in Anything Goes. It was an Easter Sunday performance, and people wouldn't let her or the cast leave the stage after that number. The applause went on fro about five minutes. And the response to everything in the second act seemed to stay on that level through "Blow, Gabriel, Blow," "All Through the Night," "Be Like a Bluebird." It was just a perfect day of cast and audience being on the same vibe.

Congratulations on everything going so splendidly yesterday.  We all need those days of heaven to remind us why we're here and why we do what we do.

Mucho congrats to BK & Companies!  What an incredible day.  The notes describing it were fascinating.  I so wish (a familiar refrain here) I could have been there.

BK, what a great day for you! I wish we all had such days on a more regular basis.

I'm planning my day.  I may begin packing these cartons for Miami University and inventorying their contents.

I remember it well!  I was glued to the set that night.   And did the camera not hold on her, as she eventually began tearing up?  But boy, she held it -- and that show went on.

Longest ovation?  Either the end of Bette Midler's 1973 show, the end of Cleo Laine's concert in 1976 or the riot in town Hall in 1985 at the end of the glorious "Some Girl Is On Your Mind" in the New Amsterdam Theatre Company's concert of Kern's Sweet Adeline.

I am going to begin my day with the laundry.  It's time.

Whew......I had to turn down a film part today because I am very self conscious about some of  my teeth.....doesn't matter much onstage.....but I am afraid to show them on film......it could be scary.

Monday afternoon greetings!  Richard and I are back from dropping Rob and Mary Linda at the Cincinnati airport and having a nice breakfast at First Watch in Crestview Hills, KY.  The kids are on their way to New Orleans for the week and we are cat-sitting.

I finished the book on Brecht and Weill.  i liked a great deal of it. I kept thinking, this country is becoming more fascist like Germany in the early 1930s than I like.
