What about Marryin' Sam?  Is there anyone out there who can match Stubby Kaye, without copying Stubby Kaye?  A little star power might help, of course.  But stunt casting, like Lea DeLauria, doesn't feel right.

What about going in a totally different direction?  How about David Hyde Pierce?? ::)

Well, I'm finally in from a whirlwind afternoon and evening, and the New York City Hainsies dinner was a fabulous event!  Kudos to DRBen for organizing it.  I met DRs Noel and Jane for the first time and I like them both immensely.  I didn't think DRNoel looked like his avatar; he's much handsomer in person, while with me, what you see is what you get!

I won't go into dinner details since the other DRs have yet to check in,  but DRPennyO is becoming one of my favorite playmates in NYC, and after dinner, she and I walked DRJane back to her hotel suite where I broke the toilet and the handyman had to come up and fix it.   We almost got TKTS tickets for THE PRODUCERS but they only had seats in the top balcony, so we went back to the hotel and visited for about two more hours.  All in all, a wonderful visit, except for the toilet incident.

Jennifer - I deposited with a teller in the bank. I had a receipt, I had witnesses. They had nerve in even trying to suggest that they delay putting the money in the account. Their losing it is not my problem.

Ya know, my 13 year old nephew would probably pee himself if he knew that BK's landlord was James Marsden as he's an X-Men fanatic of both the comics and the movies and can instantly rattle off obscure facts about the casts of the X movies.  And that's nothing compared to his knowledge of those involved with the Spider-Man films.  He knows more about Rosemary Harris's film appearances than I do.

This here site is strangely slow for this time of day.  By that I mean that the pages are slow to load.  Is the Asian Pinging Hacker back?

LOST continued with an excellent episode tonight. We continue to get backstory on various survivors that in shown in counterpoint with continuing developments on the island where they're trapped. A most intriguing series.

Well, that was a very enjoyable little dinner - good company - and I'm sorry I had to skedaddle after a scant 90 minutes.  That Jane is YOUNG...  I don't believe she could have known BK in high school.  Although she could have read Kritzer Time very carefully.

I'd met Penny before, but she didn't remember.

I have selected the next DVD to be watched, but it may not happen until this weekend since I've promised a friend I'd go with him to a car place and go shopping for the hours while the service department works on his car tomorrow afternoon.

DR Elmore's gone.  I guess we are going to have to wait to get the dirt (so to speak) on this one.

Maybe DR Jane took pics!

I am back from a committee meeting at my synagogue.  It lasted less than an hour, which must be some kind of world record.

Isn't that exciting?  Can you plotz?

Thank you for your concern about upstate New York Hainsies, DR SWW.  It was very much apprectiated that you noted, like some other segments of society, we truly are everywhere!
Hey, my mother was from Syracuse.  Some parts of some states, to refer in a way to the late Mr. Dangerfield, get no respect.

Good Evening!

Back from the show.  It's going to be very interesting playing the show on Saturday.  The notes won't be an issue, but hearing the notes will be.  The Landmark - formerly known as The Mosque - has to be one of the most acoustically unfriendly places ever built.  It seems like a place that should be nice and "live", but it's surprisingly muffled and dull.  Unfortunately, it's really "dull" in the orchestra pit.  I was sitting next to between the keyboard and the harpist, and it was quite "interesting" trying to hear anything.  And forget about trying to hear the concertmistress, or anyone else on the other side of the pit.

I'll have to fuss with the volumes levels on the monitors throughout the show which I'm not really looking forward to.  At this point, I'm even thinking of sitting in again tomorrow just to take more notes on when I'll have make those adjustments.  The keyboard player/assistant conductor was "apologizing" for the poor sound, but what can you do?

Oh, and, of course, the keyboard is right under the front still stage speakers, so I get lots of vocals.  I just need to keep reminding myself to follow the "stick" and not the stage.
