We went to IHOP for brunch and then did a little shopping.  Everyplace was crowded!  Fr. Richard dropped me here at the hotel and went on to visit one of our parishioners who lives in a nursing home.

I might need a nap...

Last night, I watched L.A. CONFIDENTIAL again.

Offhand, I can't think of a better movie to come out of Hollywood during the past 20 years.

I had never seen this before, but I recorded it when it was on TCM not too long ago.  Hopefully, I'll get to watch it sometime this weekend.  "Laughing Stock" doesn't have a performance on Sunday.  I'm going to my parents' house to visit with the family, but I won't be there all day.

I seem to be doing better today.  I am trying to limit my coughing to once every five minutes (it doesn't always work).

I'm finding TurboTax's supposed improvements more confusing this year that ever before.   Even just getting back into a return after having printed out a draft to look over seems to require guesswork as to what was on the mind of the diabolical programmer.  :)

Either that, or the wording of the easy step by step was designed by someone for whom English does not come easily.

I have found them confusing, too.

Is there a full moon? There are a lot of idiots online on all sites this morning. I'm certain they're all thinking the same about me.

A blood moon, sir.

Cosco was outrageous today - a humungous number of people rather inanely buying a handful of things, as if they were in a regular supermarket.  Not stuff like the huge boxes or amounts of things - just regular things - how much can these idiots be saving?

Had a Cobb salad and a bagel for lunch, did some banking, and am proofing another chart - this one's easy because the guy who did it will be here for a rehearsal at four-thirty and I can just show him right then where he's erred.

They like supporting Costco, they know where what they want it, they have an executive membership that gives them money back on what they spend, they were there for the pharmacy or other department....oh so many reasons. ;D

I was in Costco just an hour ago.

But all I did was browse a few things and walk out empty-handed.

Empty-handed is not a nice condition to be in when exiting a Costco.  But it happens sometimes.  Who can explain it?  Who can tell you why?

We have never left Costco empty handed.  That is funny.  Did you at least have a few samples ;)  Last time we were there they didn't have any samples I wanted, it does happen.

Nope.  I do enjoy cruising the samples, but this was at an off-hour and I was just checking to see if they carried a few things.

On more than one occasion I've eaten the equivalent of an entire lunch by sampling at Costco, then going down the road to Stew Leonard's for my second course.

Funny---all the talk about Costco.   I was thinking of joining. I'm wondering if it's worth it for a single person.  I think I might need new tires and was told they have great prices on them.

I've been a happy single consumer at Costco since this location opened in 1993.

Every year Keith says we are not going to renew our membership and then he remembers something he wants from there.  There have been items we can't find in our local market.  For a single person, ask a friend to take you along and take lots of cash with you.  One trip might last you a year if you stock up on certain items.  One of the problems of Costco is that so many items are just too big if you don't have a family.  We got our tv there.

I got my tires at Costco and they had a really good price.  They actually have sales at various times during the year, so maybe you could time it right.  I will have to get some new tires fairly soon.

I'm sure we will need to stock up on items once we move into our new home, wherever that may be.

I think my first purchase when this store opened was my first ever PC, an HP 386 with a 40MB hard drive and color (!) VGA monitor, for something like $800 (not sure, but that's the figure that pops into my head) which was a bargain then.

I've bought tons of things there over the years.  The membership fee easily pays for itself, almost regardless of what I buy in a particular year.

Costco is great for waters, sodas, various types of catered items, and some stuff that one simply doesn't mind having huge quantities of.

I buy large things of Airborne there.  They're the equivalent of four of the ten-dollar smaller containers at Gelson's - and they cost $16 or something, so really good value for money there.
