Watched Whiplash earlier this week. Found it really intense and loved J.K. Simmons' performance, but it often hard to take.

Watched "Howl," which had some good performances in it, but the script, using transcripts and poems, was more admirable than dramatically effective.

Still, I'm enjoying watching Ginsberg read "Howl."

I met him during his last year before a book signing. He was very flirtatious and vibrant and funny. I treasure my autographed copy of his collected poems.
