Well, LEDs are less expensive, lighter (in weight) and use much less energy, so I knew that whenever my TV crapped out on my (I was just hoping that it would be later, rather than sooner), I wouldn't get another plasma TV...but right now, I also need to get new tires for and a bit more servicing on my car AND eventually a new computer. Needing three big ticket items around the same time is not a good thing.

Yes, with no AC, I have been sweating over a hot computer!

There's something to that Mercury stuff. My AC fritzed out around 4 a.m. and your TV is kaput. I guess I will have to postpone, or even cancel, my jump across the Snake River Canyon.

Well, speaking of fans. My silent roommate who lives elsewhere, that's a whole story in itself, had left a fan similar to the pictured one. Around 5 a.m. I went to the storage closet and got it. Of course, it doesn't work, I was upset, and promptly flung it into the dumpster.

They have been working on the AC since 9:20 this morning and it looks like my whole AC is shot. The maintenance guys, one's named Cat and the other's Gene, brought over what they call R2D2, a portable AC unit that they claim will cool off the entirety of my luxurious 600 square feet. Yes, I live in a Fotomat booth.

ETA to a new AC will be about a day and then I can go back to having sweater weather inside (not the sweater weather outside).
